Photographer Captures the Incredible Flight Patterns of Birds

Xavi Bou’s interest in birds arose during his childhood thanks to his memorable walks with his grandfather. Years later, he created a project called “Ornitographies,” capturing birds in a single time frame, revealing the shapes they generate when flying that are mostly invisible to human perception.

“Ornitographies moves away from the scientific approach of chronophotography used by photographers like Eadweard Muybridge and Etienne-Jules Marey. The approach used by Xavi Bou to portray the scene is not invasive; moreover, it rejects the distant study, resulting in organic form images that stimulate the imagination,” reads his website.

Bou combines technology, science, and creativity to create incredible images which show the sensuality and beauty of the bird’s movements. Scroll down to see his amazing photos.
