]]>Recently, TikTok has been taken over by a new viral trend that sees internet users sharing why they didn’t make the Olympics through a series of hilarious videos.
The clips usually feature users taking part in one of the sports featured at the Olympics and failing miserably at it. An accompanying message in which they “sadly” announce that they haven’t made the Olympics or the U.S. Olympic team is included.
One of the most popular videos among the bunch was the one from @www.ihaveacrushonyou. In the clip, which got 88 million views since being shared last week, the TikToker is seen attempting a dive that ends up in her falling flat on her back in the water.
“So unfortunately I was not chosen for the usa 24 Olympic diving team,” @www.ihaveacrushonyou wrote in the text across the video while adding “maybe next year” in the caption.
The trend was so popular that even actress and Alias star Jennifer Garner took part.

]]>Ye-ji and Dikec both caught the internet’s attention due to their appearance and approach in their respective competitions, albeit for different reasons.
Ye-ji competed in the women’s 10-meter air pistol, where she won a silver medal, and brought a remarkable “main character energy,” according to social media users. She came out wearing a black outfit, a backward cap, and specialized lenses while oozing style and composure.
Dikec, on the other hand, won a silver medal in 10-meter air pistol Mixed team discipline with an unorthodox approach that left social media users impressed and branded him as having “final boss energy.” Unlike most of his peers, Dikec competed without any additional equipment like headphones or specialized lenses. Instead, he relied on his everyday glasses and looked unfazed by the moment with a hand in his pocket.
Ye-ji and Dikec’s newfound popularity on the internet didn’t escape the attention of the Paris Olympics’ social media team, who branded the duo as Olympic shooting sports stars “we didn’t know we needed.”
