Nobody Wants This was created for Netflix by writer and entrepreneur Erin Foster, who used her own life as a basis for this romantic comedy series. It centers on an agnostic podcast host and a newly single rabbi, whose unexpected relationship takes everyone around them by surprise due to their wildly different lifestyles.

Kristen Bell (The Good Place) and Adam Brody (The O.C.) lead the cast of this series, which features an impressive ensemble of supporting players, including Justine Lupe (Succession), Timothy Simons (Veep) and Sherry Cola (Joy Ride).

Nostalgia played a big role in helping Nobody Wants This, starting with its leading man, Adam Brody. Many felt that his character Noah is basically the adult version of Seth Cohen, raving about finally getting a romantic male lead who’s actually a good person. His nickname “Hot Rabbi” also made it to many viral tweets, drawing comparisons to “Hot Priest” from Fleabag played by Andrew Scott.

Nobody Wants This hit Netflix on September 26, and it didn’t take it long to make a splash. In addition to creating a lot of buzz on social media, Nobody Wants This was also met with critical acclaim and holds a 93% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
