Monokubo is a gifted, 24-year-old artist from Japan working at Studio Ghibli. Known as Ariduka55, the artist came up with the idea to paint giant animals. He uses pandas, rabbits, dogs, and cats as his main muses.

“It came from Princess Mononoke and Totoro,” Monokubo told Bored Panda. “I liked drawing pictures in such style from a young age. According to the artist, he seeks his inspiration in “Natural landscapes and various illustrations, for example, I like Piotr Jabłoński’s work.”

Monokubo shares his work on his social media where he has gathered almost thousand followers.
