]]> Terry James Cook loves birds, and he is so obsessed with them that he decided to use them in his artwork; he creates them out of polymer clay, and from balloons.

The Aberdeen-based Scottish artist made a series of very realistic bird sculptures composed of balloons of different colors. Storks, kingfishers, hummingbirds, ducks they all can be found and photographed their natural habitat.

According to Fubiz, the artist claims that this photo work does not leave any balloon waste; he removes his sculptures once the photo has been taken.

James shares his photographs on his Instagram account where he has gained almost 2k followers.

A balloon animal series I'm working on. I've gave myself a nervous condition listening to them burst all the time. I want to try and do a few more (all British birds and animals). I use qualatex balloons and they claim the natural latex they use degrades as quickly as an oak leaf (although I since found out oak leaves can take four years to break down!) I would never EVER leave a balloon outside anyway. And I've kept all the spent ones until I figure out how to get rid of them properly. ]]> Terry Cook has brought the art of making balloon animals to a whole new level. Cook is actually an experienced artist so it’s no wonder that he’s turned this fun art form into something a bit more serious.

His sculptures are incredibly realistic and he’s now skilled in making many different types of birds. How did it all start? As you may suspect, it involved a kid who needed something to play with. Cook’s niece surely had fun with the balloon animals, but so did he, so he decided to turn this into a hobby.
