]]> Most people tend to throw away their old basketballs once they’ve worn out and no longer serve their purpose, but not Andrea Bergart. This New York-based artist uses them to create handbags that can make you feel stylish and confident at the same time.

Bergart is a passionate basketball player, and she would often walk around with a basketball in her hand on her way to her Downtown Girls Basketball practice. This made her feel powerful and confident, so she decided to bring those feelings to her everyday lifeβ€”by turning the basketballs into fashionable bags.

She started her creative endeavor by cutting a basketball in half and seeing if she could make anything out of it. It turned out they offer an infinite sea of possibilities, and she started merging fashion and athletics into one by making amazing basketball bags.

She didn’t stop at making handbags and went on to use basketballs to craft everything from crossbody bags and clutches over the years. Her bags even became a huge hit with celebrities and influencers, and many WNBA players have been spotted wearing them.
