]]> How to make great chocolate even better? Put it in some awesome packaging! Seattle Chocolate has recently released a selection of chocolate bars wrapped in illustrated packaging designed by artists like Anne M. Bentley, Carolyn Gavin, and Llew Mejia.

“Seattle Chocolate has always featured Northwest flavors, and they are consistently our best-sellers,” said Jean Thompson, owner and CEO of the Seattle Chocolate Company. “Rebranding is an opportunity to celebrate our roots and share the wholesome Pacific Northwest lifestyle, taste and ethos with the rest of the country. You may spot our new tagline ‘May chocolate be your umbrella’ on each of our bars, which speaks to what we’re about: chocolate as a salve and a comfort, like a little bit of sunshine on a rainy day.”

"The inspiration behind this bar is directly from my childhood. During my younger years, I spent my life traveling around Mexico and as a result saw a lot of popular art, or as it's called here, folk art. All of these motifs would eventually influence the way I would create art directly; and I just had to think back to being a kid in Mexico with my Abuelita Mati cooking over the stove and making us chocolate with boiled milk. I think the richness in this bar definitely brings me back to those moments I got to spend with my family there." – Artist Llew Meija on his inspiration for the Mexican Hot Chocolate wrap, an original design that we just can't get enough of.
