Have you ever wondered what some pop culture characters would buy at a supermarket? It’s a thought-provoking question but luckily we have the answer. Illustrator Linda Bouderbala draws her favorite characters as supermarket customers standing on the register waiting to pay for the items they need.

“I’m sure my favorite characters have needs too,” she writes on Bored Panda. “In our consumeristic society, I wondered what they could buy if they could do their shopping just like us in a supermarket… With all those mass market products within easy reach. Here’s the result of my imagination! Tell me what you buy and I will tell you who you are…”

Linda Bouderbala, an artist who loves geek and pop culture, decided one day to sort as many famous characters as she can by color. She wanted to show that each of them is completely unique and that, just because they are of the same color, it doesn’t mean they need to be similar in any other way. Even the colors are not quite the same when you look closer.

The collection below will please everybody who loves their characters to be organized in a way that makes sense. It will also annoy the others. You decide for yourself if you like it.

One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. This has never seemed as true as when we discovered Alexandra Dillon’s art. This LA-based surrealist takes the most ordinary, used up paintbrushes and similar objects and paints tiny characters on them in the most charming way.

“My characters come to me the way [they do to] novelists,” she revealed. “They show up and tell me who they are. I never quite know who will show up.”

“I work on each piece over the course of several days,” Dillon continued. “They often change and grow into themselves more fully. When I have found the emotion and personality of a character, I know I’m finished.”
