]]>British make-up artist, Isamya Ffrench, proves that makeup is truly an art form. Her career started early and by the age of 28, Ffrench has already worked with some of the biggest fashion icons, including Kate Moss and Rihanna.
M.A.C Cosmetics, Junya Watanabe, and Chloé are among the brands to have tapped her talents, along with YSL, for whom she’s now Beauté UK make-up ambassador.
“There was never a doubt that I wouldn’t end up in the creative industries,” she told Forbes. “Initially, I explored a few routes—dancing, product design, acting and then finally makeup and I feel like my work reflects all of those elements in a way… which feels creatively satisfying.”
But treating makeup as art, means Ffrench isn’t just interested in making things pretty. “I’m just not solely interested in exploring what we are commercially fed as ‘beautiful,’” she explained. “I have my own instincts about beauty and what moves me and that’s what I pursue.”
