]]>Ukrainian artist Tanya Zhylyayeva uses amigurumi to create adorable birds that look exactly like real animals. Her intricate colorful creatures are around seven inches tall and they can perch on your finger just like a real bird.
“All the children and their parents love crocheted toys and I love them too. But what I love the most is to create toys. I love bright and funny parrots, scary raven, cardinal birds, and doves,” Zhylyayeva wrote on her Etsy shop.
Zhylyayeva’s flock includes birds like cockatiels, budgies, conures, palm and white cockatoos and you order any of these models on her Etsy shop. The artist is also open to custom orders, which means you can get a crochet model of your adorable pet.

]]>Smith draws inspiration for his artwork from his retro-domestic nostalgia and makes crochet replicas of household appliances and food like hair dryers, toasters, cakes, salads, and much more. Besides crochet, he also uses foam armatures and rubber in order to make sure his pieces get as close to the real thing as much as possible.
According to this talented artist, who holds a Visual Arts degree, his mother was the one responsible for his artistic tendencies.
“My mother was a talented craftswoman and I was always shadowing her, wanting to be doing what she was doing,” β explained Smith in a talk with The Design Files.
Smith’s works received a lot of attention on social media, and he recently decided to present some of his crafts in a joint exhibition with textile artist Kristen Fredericks. He is also planning on doing a solo show in the near future.
