We saw numerous times that embroidery artists can do some pretty amazing and impressive things with threads and needles. But the work of Danielle Clough might top all of that.

While many embroiderers tend to be inspired by nature or fashion, this South Africa-based artist took a different route and chose pop culture as her main source of inspiration. Clough creates impressive embroidery portraits of pop culture icons like Fresh Prince from Bel Air, The Dude and Notorious B.I.G that are incredibly detailed. Besides this, she also occasionally does embroidery flower arrangements as well as other motifs like skulls and animals.

The creative couple have been all over Europe, capturing the beauty of each city in a series of embroidery patterns. From Barcelona’s contemporary architecture to the colourful buildings of Stockholm, the artists encapsulated the detailed structures of famous landmarks. Each design can be downloaded so you can also recreate them on your own and it comes with a technique and color guide.
