]]> Martin Frost, the last commercial fore-edge painter in the world, keeps this ancient art alive in today’s modern times. Fore-edge painting is an art form where the edges of gilded books are embellished with art that can only be seen when the book is open in a certain way.

“It is a discrete painting. It is only there when you know how to unlock it,” Frost explains.
