Although he works as a teacher, Lucian’s passion for photography had found a fertile ground in the South Korean capital, as the breathtaking natural sites, parks, people, and structures, all levitating in a fusion of old and new, of tradition and fashion, had been inspiring enough to drag that camera around his neck on his walks around the city.
The photographer’s attitude to photography is refreshingly no-nonsense. For instance, he says that he doesn’t try to take too many shots of a single scene, preferring to focus on versatility, and believing that the perfect shot is in the scene itself.
Lucian also says that since the city itself is so rewarding to the eye, he does not tamper with the photography with filters and photoshopping – as the initially captured richness of beauty is enough to do it justice. This can be inspiring in a broader sense – things are beautiful without make-up.
