The illustrations made by multidisciplinary designer John Ed De Vera are not something you’ll see every day. This Philippines-based artist creates his works by layering several pieces of paper on each other in a perfect order which then forms the image. This technique enables him to create depth and shadow in his illustrations and enable the viewer to experience them in a whole other way.

De Vera starts the process of making these cool pieces by tracing each particular element of the illustration on writing paper. Then he transfers the etches to the thick paper, and arranges them into a complete image.
