]]> Michael Sowa is a famous painter and illustrator who has been doing art for more than seven decades. The German artist paints on canvas, but instead of using oils, which are most commonly used, he uses clear acrylics. Sowa became world-known almost 20 years ago, back in 2001, thanks to his participation in the movie Amelie; he was the artist who created the strange paintings and lamps in the main character’s room.

In his works, which are full of vibrant colors, the painter combines dream and surreal, and always adds animals to his paintings. People have compared his creations to former Dutch and Flemish masters from the 16th and 17th centuries.
