]]> Nowadays, the art world is full of artists that offer interesting content, and to create something new which has never been seen before is really hard. However, one artist from New Zealand manages to do just that.

Artist Meg Van Hale is a contemporary jeweler from Otepoti who creates jewelry inspired by beauty in nature. She is maybe best-known for her collection where she turns creepy crabs into jewels.

“This jewelry collection titled Second Nature, explores mankind’s anthropocentrism: the belief that humans are the most important beings over all others,” the artist shared on Bored Panda. “It’s this dominant value system of wealth and material objects, that drives the cause and effect of climate change.”

Hale studied Jewelry and Metalsmithing at the Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin School of Art, and gained her Bachelor of Visual Arts with Honors in 2017.
