Zim&Zou are two French artists named Lucie Thomas and Thibault Zimmermann. They create artworks using handcrafted objects made of paper, wood, thread and other tangible materials. They make all the elements composing their art installations by hand, from drawing to assembling.

They called themselves as “paper pirates,” creating intricate and colorful sculptures made entirely of paper.

Recently, they were invited to create miniature worlds inspired by previous Novel Prize winners in Literature. The duo built paper pieces based on One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (1967) – a verdant home almost hidden from the world by a lush green garden – and Kristin Lavransdatter by Sigrid Undset (1920) – featuring a technicolor city on 14th-century Norway.
