]]> Elena Martini is an Italian-born, self-taught body painter who transforms herself into whatever or whoever she wants to be. Martini has been paralyzed in her legs since birth due to a spinal cord injury, but being in a wheelchair her whole life didn’t stop her from making her dreams come true.

She does eye, arm, face, and bodypainting, and her artistic journey began in 2015 after watching the World Bodypainting Festival on television.

“I usually try to exploit the shapes and anatomy of the face to create my looks — especially when painting animals, which on the human face, end up looking so realistic,” the body painter told Yahoo Lifestyle. “I love painting animals, but I also love 3D effects. I draw inspiration from the animals of the forest, from actors, and also from other artists on Instagram.”
