The artist shared the idea for including numerous banned books in her art installation and asked the public to donate them so that she, together with students from the Kassel University, could construct the replica.

Wrapped in plastic, the 100,000 books are hanging from the structure which sits on the place where 2,000 books were burned in the Nazi Book Burning in the 1930s, which is a reminder of the constant censorship of those who were viewed as opponents of Nazi ideologies.
