]]> A 24-year-old girl from Morocco, Sarah Hasbi, loves studying history. She’s most fascinated with the history of beauty and fashion. In that manner, she decided to honor women from the past by dressing up as typical females from various time periods.

“First, I do some research about a certain period of time, then I recreate the same makeup and costumes that women used to wear at that particular time in history. I then take the picture, edit it, and add a little story about my character,” Hasbi says.

Her project is called I Became Everything. She cosplays as “cosmonauts, artists, doctors, teachers, queens, warriors, housewives, medieval, millennial, young or old… anyone who has ever existed.”

Janina, 17. It’s my birthday! My dad is taking me to see the Beatles!! I have been waiting for this for so long!! I can’t believe I’m finally seeing them tomorrow!! I hope Paul notices my sign… (giggles). Dad says if I behave, I could go again in two months to see them in the UK, I have an aunt who lives there. Oh, I haven’t done anything. Dragoslava, 28. Maslenitsa is a sun-festival, personified by the god Volos. It is a celebration of the end of winter and it lasts 1 week. Today is Sunday, the last day of Maslenitsa. Today is "the forgiveness day”. On this day, we ask each other for forgiveness for all grievances and troubles; in the evening we go to cemeteries and bid farewell to the dead. At the end of the day, people gather to burn Lady Maslenitsa, a stuffed figure of the winter. We throw the remnants of pancakes and food to the huge bonfire. This is a very important religious holiday for us, I hope people will still celebrate it in the future… in the year 1700 for example (giggling). (Polotsk, Belarus, 862) This holiday comes from the pre-Christian times, when the Slavs were still pagans. It is still celebrated today, in 2018.
