]]>According to the press release issued by Dr. Biden, the First Lady met Willow in 2020 while giving a speech in Pennsylvania at one of President Biden’s campaign stops. The cat wasn’t interested in political speeches that day and instead crashed the stage looking for someone to play with.
Dr. Biden didn’t mind the interruption and the two immediately hit it off. The owner of the farm where Willow lived noticed the bond and allowed the cat to leave with her new friend.
In the meantime, Willow, which was named after Dr. Biden’s hometown of Willow Grove, lived with foster parents until the time was right to introduce her to the White House and the rest of the world.
“Willow is settling into the White House with her favorite toys, treats, and plenty of room to smell and explore,” said the press release.
