]]> After mega-successful movies like Coco, Inside Out, and Up, Pixar is releasing another animated movie that we’ll love. It’s titled Soul and the first trailer is here. Published on November 7th, the trailer already has over 7 million views in the moment of writing.

In the trailer, we see the main character, Joe Gardner, who works as a middle school music teacher despite always having dreamt about being a jazz performer. Just as he starts pursuing his dream and gets a big opportunity, an accident happens that separates his soul from his body. Together with other souls, he needs to work his way to returning back to Earth.

The movie will be released on June 19th, 2020. It was directed by Pete Docter and Kemp Powers. The main voices come from Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey. Click play below to see the trailer.

]]> Animation company Pixar has released their first short film from the new SparkShorts program they recently launched. The film is titled Purl and it covers the story of a female ball of yarn who starts a new job at a male-dominated office. In 8 short minutes, we get to see her dealing with gender equality issues in the workplace, which is a common struggle for many women today.

Creator Kristen Lester knows very well what it’s like to be the only female in the office. “My first job, I was like the only woman in the room, and so in order to do the thing that I loved, I sort of became one of the guys,” she shares. “And then I came to Pixar, and I started to work on teams with women for the first time, and that actually made me realize how much of the female aspect of myself I had sort of buried and left behind.”
