]]>Among various AI-generated videos featured on Impossible AI @/impossibleaicinema, the ones that caught our attention the most were the clips that showcased how life looked in different periods in history. They are a testament to how AI video generators became highly advanced while also representing a treat for history buffs.
One video shows life in the ancient city of Carthage, which served as one of the most important trading hubs in the Mediterranean Sea during ancient times. It takes us back to 1000 BC and provides a snapshot of the port, bustling market, impressive architecture, everyday life, and much more.
In another video, we can travel back in time to New York City in the 1920s. It shows some of the city’s most famous landmarks, like the Flatiron Building and Times Square, the atmosphere in jazz bars, people walking on the street, Wall Street brokers reading newspapers, and more.
Other history throwback videos by Impossible AI feature the Bronze Age period in Scotland, Ancient Egypt, Aztecs, Victorian London, and more. Check them out below.

]]>The post World’s First Museum Dedicated to Robots and AI Opens in Seoul, South Korea appeared first on PlayJunkie.
]]>Seoul Robot & AI Museum makes its purpose clear with a futuristic building designed by Turkish studio Melike Altınışık Architects.
“The museum’s spherical, non-directional form is characterized by fluid, organic shapes that resonate with the advanced technologies housed within,” the studio explains.
The building resembles a spaceship and actively contributes to the experience through smart systems that are “woven” into its design and operation. This includes the combination of panels that can serve as a screen for content display.
“It’s like the building itself is alive, interacting with visitors to enhance their experience at every turn,” Melike Altınışık Architects add.
The museum’s vision is to introduce visitors to the latest technological advancements and gadgets while helping them “build connections” with the technology that will play a crucial role in shaping their future.
Seoul Robot & AI Museum might be the first of its kind, but it surely won’t be the only one. There are plans to build several other similar museums across Seoul that can communicate and collaborate with each other.

]]>Alsuairy, who is an avid sports fan, recently started an intriguing series of AI art that sees her place sports courts in the most surreal locations.
The series features basketball courts in deep mountain craters and underground caves, tennis courts surrounded by steep cliffs, and sports courts floating on the sea. They look so impressive that you’ll wish they were real and you can play a game, whether you like sports or not.
In most cases, Alsuairy’s works are set in real-life settings, with the ancient oasis city of al-Ula in her native Saudi Arabia being a particularly frequent source of inspiration.
‘This project embodies my passion for sports and my love for the stunning environment of AlUla, brought to life with the power of artificial intelligence,’ Alsuairy told designboom.
Check out more of Alsuairy’s works below.

]]>The game, developed by Caroline Buttet and Emmanuel Durgoni from Google Arts & Culture Lab, presents players with four similarly-themed artworks. Three of them are sourced from Google’s Arts and Culture collection, and one is created by AI. Your goal is to find an AI intruder before the time runs out.
While it may sound simple, the task is actually much more difficult. This is why the game gives you four lives before it restarts, and believe us when we say you’ll need each one. You can test your skills by clicking here.
Sometimes, there are obvious clues that the art was made by AI, like a futuristic style, odd shapes, or an over-polished look. But other times, it is almost impossible to single out the artificial intelligence work.
Odd One Out is part of Google’s project to develop “AI-powered ways to play with arts and culture.”
“The starting point for these new experiments was applications of Google AI Image Generation Research to inspire cultural discovery and learning through play,” Google says about the game.

]]>Dinda recently shared a video on his YouTube channel PiXimperfect in which he demonstrated how to use the endless possibilities of AI in your favor. His example included having AI generate a photo of him posing with a girlfriend. After that, he would use the photo to convince his relatives that he has a girlfriend, and they would hopefully leave him alone.
As it turned out, his experiment was more than successful. People could barely tell the difference, and his family and friends were expecting a wedding announcement soon.
“One friend was even on the verge of booking a flight to attend my wedding,” he shared in a chat with My Modern Met.
Dinda’s video doesn’t only have an entertaining back story, but it also covers how you can use AI to manipulate photos by adding or removing people from them. And it’s safe to say the final results are quite impressive.
Watch the video below to see how Dinda created his fake girlfriend and to learn more fascinating things about artificial intelligence.

]]>But if you’re one of the people wondering how your portrait would look like if it were painted by one of the great artists in history, this new app is for you.
AI Portraits Ars – developed by MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab’s Mauro Martino, Emanuele Del Sozzo, Owen Cornec, and Luca Stornaiuolo from Politecnico di Milano and Liza Gazeeva – uses information from over 45,000 15th century images to help ‘paint’ a portrait of any photo uploaded.
The team opted to choose this era as it was a period in art history where realistic portraits gained popularity among people from higher social classes.
The app uses Artificial Intelligence to replicate artistic human portraits and is able to create them in real-time at 4k resolution. Unlike other photo apps and filters that turn your photo into a work of art but leave the facial lines untouched, AI Portraits distinguishes itself with its GAN models, generating a new painting where facial lines are completely redesigned. It determines the best style for the portrait by analyzing the features and background.
“We have trained Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) models to reproduce human portraits, with different styles and levels of abstraction. GANs are a very popular class of deep generative models,” reads the website.
To use this tool, you just have to upload a picture of yourself and let the AI work for you. Check out some of the AI portraits below.
