]]> Greg Saniatan is a digital creator who regularly amazes social media users with his stop-motion animations featuring LEGO. Recently, Saniatan decided to take his creativity to the next level as part of the promotion for LEGO’s new Botanical Collection.

In a video shared on Instagram, which has already been viewed 28 million times, Saniatan takes a slab of brown LEGO and starts shaping it like it’s made of clay. He “cuts” it with a wire, places it on the potter’s wheel, and even sprinkles it with some “water,” which is actually just see-through bricks.

From there, Saniatan creates the shape of the flower pot, gives it an oven treatment, and even paints it. Of course, all of that is done with LEGO.

Instagram users went on to share their amazement with the video and Saniatan’s creativity in the comments section.

“Jaw dropping! You just keep getting better and better!,” one person commented.

“That’s actually an incredibly accurate demonstration of the pottery process!!!!,” another added.

This isn’t the first time Saniatan impresses social media with his stop motion animations focused on LEGO. A while back he also made a video in which he “painted” Hokusai’s “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” using plastic bricks.

]]> LEGO bricks have long transcended their original purpose of being toys. Thanks to the endless possibilities they offer, LEGOs are now being used in all sorts of different ways, including being material for impressive works of art.

Artist Sean Kenney uses LEGOs as the main material for his large-scale animal sculptures. From zebras and eagles to insects and sea creatures, Kenney manages to craft a realistic depiction of animals from every corner of the animal world by using only small plastic bricks.

According to Kenney, LEGOs have been his fascination since a young age. This fascination persisted even when he grew up, with the only difference being that his creations became more sophisticated.

But even as his approach changed and his projects took months to complete, building LEGO models never stopped affording him the same kind of fun. 

“As an art medium, it’s wonderful to see people’s reactions to what I create. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen someone look at my work and frown,” Kenney said in a recent interview with deMilked. “The LEGO makes it inherently whimsical, which I love. Art doesn’t have to be so serious all the time.”

]]> LEGOLAND Japan recently entered the Guinness Book of World Records by assembling the world’s largest LEGO cherry blossom tree. The tree was designed and built by a team of staff in the Czech Republic, who used over 800,000 LEGO bricks and 6,700 hours of work to get the final result.

“I’m excited to showcase this world’s largest LEGO brick cherry blossom tree.” – said Torben Jensen, president of LEGOLAND Japan. “I hope that visitors enjoy a piece of Japanese culture in LEGOLAND Japan-style.”

Bunga sakura menjadi salah satu identitas dari Jepang. Bahkan, taman rekreasi Legoland Jepang membuat pohon sakura terbesar dari Lego. Untuk soal umur, Legoland Jepang di Nagoya mungkin bisa dibilang taman rekreasi yang paling muda di Negeri Sakura. Tepat pada 1 April 2018 lalu, Legoland Jepang baru saja merayakan hari jadinya yang pertama. Hal itu pun dimaknai secara unik oleh pihak Legoland Jepang. Dilihat detikTravel dari laman Instagramnya, Selasa (10/4/2018), pohon sakura terbesar dari kotak-kotak Lego pun dibuat untuk merayakan hari jadinya. Diketahui, pohon sakura itu memiliki ukuran 4,38 x 4,93 x 5,42 meter. Proses pembuatannya memerlukan 881.470 kotak Lego warna-warni. Namun yang lebih menakjubkan, pohon sakura Lego itu memiliki berat hingga 3.333 kilogram! Kreasi dari pihak Legoland Jepang itu pun berhasil membuahkan hasil manis.
