]]> Dogs know that their barking often makes intruders go away. This is the case when a dog barks at the mailman. But this particular postman is special because the dogs under his route get excited every time he comes by.

Recently, Twitter user @amorningsting shared a heartwarming story about her mailman dad. Her father would always bring treats for the canine animals. He was loved by his furry friends and their owners too. However, one day during his usual route, he got a sad letter from one of his customers telling him that their dog had passed away. The former dog owner decided to honor their pet by thanking her dad and giving her remaining bag of treats.

In a text to his daughter, the mailman dad told her that it was his large buddy Gretchen, a German Shepherd, that had died, along with a picture of dog treats and a heartbreaking note.

“Gretchen passed away yesterday. She asked me to ask you if you would share her treats that she never got to finish with the other dogs on your route. She always enjoyed seeing you come to the door and was always happy to get a snack from you. Thank you, The Cimino Family,” the note read.

The post of the daughter immediately went viral and many people was touched by the story. Scroll down to see the comments.

]]> We have all had unpleasant experiences with getting stuff in the mail or delivery companies. Sometimes, the packages comes damaged, sometimes they are left out in the open and thieves get to them before us, or package doesn’t arrive at all. But one man recently showed that most mail workers actually care about the shipments they deliver.

A recent video posted on Inside Edition shows a mailman trying to deliver a package to one family. After realizing that no one is home, he considers taking it back to the office in order to avoid “porch pirates” stealing it. That’s when the homeowner starts communicating with him via a security camera.

In a conversation that followed, the mailman describes that the package arrived from a family member and that he usually doesn’t leave mail out in the open if it didn’t arrive from a store. After the homeowner say’s it’s ok to leave the box, the man then comes up with a great solution and suggests that he leaves it in a recycling bin.

The video has since gone viral and social media loved the mailman’s dedication to his work. You can check it out below.
