]]>Dion posted her art on Bored Panda and shared that she’s always been interested in nature and animals and that’s why she decided to study ecology. Drawing has been her hobby ever since she was a little girl, although she claims she was never really very good at it.
Nevertheless, everything changed when she became more serious about drawing and painting and discovered watercolor. Dion started posting her artwork online and decided to turn this into a business when she got positive feedback. Now she sells her watercolor pet portraits worldwide.
“For me, this is the perfect job, but the thing I love most about it is when people see their pet’s portrait for the first time, and it makes them so happy,” the artist said.
“My style has evolved throughout these years to achieve what I realize today: semi-realistic illustrations in a soft and rounded style full of life thanks to bright colors, combining watercolors and colored pencils, always linked to the animal world and Nature.”

]]>The story of how this talented artist started creating pet drawings in 10 minutes is quite interesting. Cahill was asked to be a party entertainer artist when, all of a sudden, a pet portrait caricature artist backed out last minute. Even though she’s not a caricaturist, Cahill offered to draw realistic pet portraits and this turned out to be huge a success.
“At first, it took me a while to get up my speed, but once I got in my drawing groove I was able to get the images down in ten minutes using charcoal and chalk on gray paper. I started to be asked to draw at more pet parties after that first event. I can do larger commissioned artworks and with people and their pets also,” the artist told Bored Panda.
