Greg Olijnyk is a graphic designer who has an interesting hobby, which helps him relax from his demanding day job. Olijnyk creates cardboard sculptures that are inspired by Steampunk and Sci-Fi.

Olijnyk’s sculptures are highly detailed and often have moving parts. For example, the robot sculptures have moving limbs while the wheels on vehicles can rotate. His engineering efforts don’t stop here, however.

In some cases, he fits solar panels and installs motors, which bring his creations to life.

“Even if, once behind glass, they remain frozen in a pose, I like to know that the capacity is there to bring them to life,” Olijnyk told Colossal in a recent interview.

Check out some of Olijnyk’s awesome creations below.

A technology entrepreneur and a collector of fine timepieces, Dan has always found himself fascinated by the precision and accuracy of watches. But, at the same time, Dan is also different from other collectors. He’s not just into collecting watches, he’s also turning them into something else completely — something new and amazing.

Using broken-down timepieces that would have otherwise just been thrown away, Dan creates intricate and miniature art.

What started initially as solely about miniature motorcycles now include a series of art pieces that range from anything such as motorcycles, skulls, cameras, and even iconic characters from the Star Wars franchise.

These steampunk creatures take somewhere around 30-50 hours to finish and are definitely well worth your time.

“It is a pleasure for me that I can help to transform an item that was thrown and is useless giving it the opportunity to exist in a new shape, in a new form as if I continued its existence in an already artistic expression”, Artūras says.
