]]> We as humans can only modify nature for our needs, but in the end, nature always wins. Its time we learn to appreciate everything we have and use it rationally so we can survive longer on our dear, irreplaceable planet.  

Stephanie Kilgast shows through her art the wonderful symbiosis that can form between nature and human-made objects. Mushrooms, insects, plants and different kind of animals inspire her life-like sculptures. As a true nature lover, she likes to display the sensitive balance between human activities and nature and how easy it is to cross that line. Her artwork sends out a powerful message: nature can grow back on its own if we just let it. 

She says that humans are a part of nature and by destroying our environment we are destroying ourselves, adding that it’s up to us to change so we can manage the environmental crisis we ourselves created.

Wooot! The collaboration pieces with @miles_art are DONE! Cake for everyone! 😁🍰🧁 —– Miles came up with that sadly beautiful woman crying over a human that is decomposing, @mooncranepress created the cast and I added life with my mushrooms, because, whatever happens, life always keeps going. Even if it's just on a bacterial level. —– Another way of seeing this sculpture is to see the woman crying not over a human being but over the 6th mass extinction of nature that is currently happening. (what? my brain is obsessed with that issue😶) But if you see something else, go with that, I'm not very dictatorial with my art.💙 —– This limited edition has been sold out for a few months now, but I only finished it now. THANK YOU for those who bought a piece, you have no idea how important it is to be able to sustain myself financially through the colorful chaos I create everyday. My latests sculpture "Last Glow" for the #glowinggone challenge hosted by @glowinggone to raise awareness about the dying coral reefs. —— When coral reefs die, they "bleach", the heat of water causes the algae that is inhabiting them to leave, leaving them white. Sometimes however, they will glow in fluorescent colors just before the bleaching. In the last 30 years, we've lost 50% of the world's coral reefs. If you'd like to learn more about it, check @glowinggone out. —— On another note, sort of, ocean acidification goes even further, causing the coral reefs to dissolve. Ocean acidification is pretty bad to all living creatures in the ocean, even worse than heat. Found this rusty rainbow jug at a local charity shop and I imagined macaws flying around. I picked the hyacinth macaw, which happens to be the largest species with a length from head to tip of tail of 100 cm. I picked it because this beautiful bird is endangered, classified as vulnerable, due to habitat loss and pet trade.  According to the IUCN @redlist_of_ecosystems its number is decreasing. Unfortunately just another endangered species in this 6th mass extinction. To be honest, it's not really hard to pick an endangered species. But it's crucial to talk about it.
