The post Heart and Brain Comics Imagine What Would Happen if Human Organs Could Talk appeared first on PlayJunkie.
]]>Created by cartoonist Nick Seluk, Heart and Brain comics imagine what would happen if human organs could talk. They feature all sorts of funny scenarios and conversations that feel quite relatable. For example, most of us experienced situations where our hearts were “telling” us to quit our jobs and pursue our true passions before our brains stepped in and reminded us that we should be more passionate about being able to pay our bills.
Seluk ventured into comic creation in 2012 with The Awkward Yeti comics. The original comic followed the daily life of a blue Yeti named Lars, who would occasionally have conversations with anthropomorphized versions of his heart and brain.
While Heart and Brain were envisioned as side characters, they soon became fan favorites. This prompted Seluk to create a Heart and Brain spin-off comic, which has since outshined the original.

]]>The post Employee Hangs His Own Painting at Munich Museum and Loses His Job appeared first on PlayJunkie.
]]>Back in February, one employee at Munich’s Pinakothek der Moderne, who happens to be an aspiring artist, decided to hang one of his paintings in the museum’s collection. After finding out about the employee’s intervention, the museum decided to terminate his contract and banned him from visiting again. It is unclear how long the artwork was displayed before it was discovered.
After the news made headlines, Pinakothek der Moderne shared some details about the case. According to a public statement, a 51-year-old employee gained access to the exhibit space during working hours but outside the regular opening hours. They also stated that criminal charges were withdrawn while refuting that the employee was fired, instead saying his contract was terminated on “mutual agreement.”
While some members of the art community and media argued that the employee’s actions could be considered an artistic intervention, Pinakothek der Moderne disagreed, saying “no hurdles had to be overcome” and branded the actions as “a breach of trust.”
The employee’s artwork later made its way to social media. The painting, which is 45 inches wide and 25 inches in length, shows a family of four that has its faces and certain body parts covered in white paint.

]]>Actress Jennifer Garner recently shared a funny video on her Instagram that documented her struggles to bathe her cat Moose. As it turns out, Moose “pooped his pants” and needed a bath, but the feline didn’t plan on making it easy for the Alias star.
“First of all, we have an obesity problem. So, please don’t make fun,” Garner added before she started cleaning Moose.
Moose can be seen trying to escape the sink and even scratching Garner at one point, but the actress stood her ground and finished what she started regardless of how exhausting it was. Unfortunately, she realized a bit too late that she didn’t use a conditioner.
Instagram users were quite amused by the video, sharing their thoughts in the comments section.
“I think the conditioner would have tipped Moose over the edge,” one user jokingly wrote.
“What’s great about this is the cat does not care that that’s Jennifer Garner,” another added.

]]>In a video that is making rounds on social media, and was then posted by ViralHog, an adorable hamster can be seen standing on a couch and nibbling on a Cheeto. Suddenly, he is approached by the dog, who is attracted by the smell of the snack. Without thinking twice, the canine simply grabs the Cheeto from the hamster’s tiny paws and eats it.
The hamster ends up trying to make the best out of the situation by licking the remaining Cheeto dust on his paws.
While most internet users found the clip quite funny, there were some who felt sorry for the hamster and the way it lost its snack.
“The hamster seen his whole life flash before his little eye,” one user commented.
“That’s mean,” another added.
We really hope that the hamster ended up getting another Cheeto to snack on because he seemed to have enjoyed the first one a lot before it was taken from him.

]]>The post Frankey Creates Amusing Art Installations All Over Amsterdam, Netherlands appeared first on PlayJunkie.
]]>Inspired by famous British graffiti artist Banksy, Frankey started using the streets of Amsterdam as a playground for his creative practice. With simple interventions, he transforms traffic signs, fences, and other urban objects into amusing street art.
“I just want to make people smile with my work, that’s the greater good. A 6-year-old and a 90-year-old can smile at the same thing; it’s amazing that you brighten someone’s day with just one object,” he shared in a recent interview with The New York Times.
Frankey started this fun project in 2020 when he noticed a studded block on the street that reminded him of a LEGO brick. He decided to create a giant LEGO figurine of André Hazes, a popular Dutch singer and placed it on the block.
Since then, Frankey has been entertaining locals and tourists with new installations on a weekly basis. He presents his newest pieces through newspaper Het Parool while also sharing them on Instagram. However, he never reveals the exact location, wanting people to discover them on their own.
So, if you are visiting Amsterdam one of these days, pay extra attention to your surroundings, and maybe you’ll see one of Frankey’s installations in person. In the meantime, check out some of his previous works below.

]]>Artist Sean Kenney uses LEGOs as the main material for his large-scale animal sculptures. From zebras and eagles to insects and sea creatures, Kenney manages to craft a realistic depiction of animals from every corner of the animal world by using only small plastic bricks.
According to Kenney, LEGOs have been his fascination since a young age. This fascination persisted even when he grew up, with the only difference being that his creations became more sophisticated.
But even as his approach changed and his projects took months to complete, building LEGO models never stopped affording him the same kind of fun.
“As an art medium, it’s wonderful to see people’s reactions to what I create. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen someone look at my work and frown,” Kenney said in a recent interview with deMilked. “The LEGO makes it inherently whimsical, which I love. Art doesn’t have to be so serious all the time.”

]]>The post 13-Year-Old Gamer “Beats” NES Tetris 34 Years After Its Release appeared first on PlayJunkie.
]]>NES Tetris became notorious in the gaming community for being incredibly hard to play after a certain level. Before 2021, gamers managed to only hit Level 38 before it became impossible to keep up with the pace of the game.
However, in 2021, a new technique called “rolling” was discovered, enabling players to push the limits of the game. Even then, it was believed that the game could only be played until Level 155 before a “kill screen” – a term used to describe a point in which classic games crash due to code limitations – appears.
In December, Tetris champion Justin “Fractal” Yu and Blue Scuti organized a match in which they wanted to see who would reach the “kill screen” first. Blue Scuti reached Level 155 first but then went on to progress two more levels, getting to Level 157 before the game crashed.
“I’m going to pass out, I can’t feel my fingers,” the 13-year-old kid said after needing 40 minutes to complete the run and “beat” NES Tetris.
Previous experiments using Artificial Intelligence software showed that NES Tetris can be played all the way to Level 255 if all the crash points are avoided. At that point, the player would be met with a red scheme, which, when beaten, would take him back to the starting level.

]]>Kolo has been sharing his works on TikTok, and they have been picking up quite a lot of attention, landing him loads of new followers and even an interview with The Washington Post.
According to Kolo, he started re-designing random flyers and posters during a period of “creative rut”. One day, he was walking around the city and noticed a flyer posted by a board game enthusiast looking for similar-minded people.
Kolo couldn’t stop thinking about the flyer, so he decided to re-vamp it, making it eye-catching and more efficient in conveying its message. He then returned to the same spot and placed it next to the original.
“When I see something poorly designed, it’s in me to imagine how I would do it differently,” Kolo told The Washington Post. “That got me really excited.”
Soon, Kolo saw his creative spark lit up again, and he started giving a makeover to other poorly-designed flyers and posters. He was particularly targeting small businesses and charitable efforts, who could benefit from his work.
Kolo’s re-designs became a hit on social media, regularly generating hundreds of thousands of views. Check out more of them below.
