James Trevino is a young man from Romania who took his love for books to a whole other level. After acquiring a massive book collection over the years, this 24-year-old figured it would be waste to leave them just sitting on the shelf. So he decided to turn them into works of art.

Trevino, who calls himself bookstagrammer, uses the books from his collection to create entertaining scenes that he then shares with more than 200K of his Instagram followers. After experimenting with self-portraits that showed him with wings made of books, he proceeded on with creating a lot more elaborate scenes which often include pop-culture motifs.

“We usually bring out the books, we put them on the floor, and we do at first a few pics without me in them to see if they fit all right and all that stuff, and then finally we take about 100 shots and we hope one of them is good. And the whole process takes about, I don’t know, two to three hours per pic.” – Trevino describes his process.

What would be your favorite thing about going to Hogwarts? ⚑ I think the feasts in the Great Hall would top my list. I mean, I know some of you right now are like: James, you are most excited to go to Hogwarts to eat? What is wrong with you?! But c'mon, have you seen those things? Every time I read about them in the books or see them in the movies I get hungry. It doesn't matter that I ate just before that. I can't help myself. Plus all the goodies you can buy in Hogsmeade… 😍 Overall Hogwarts would probably be the most attractive tourist destination ever haha. Just so much wonder! #whpwanderlust ⚑ On a side note, this recreation of the first edition cover of HARRY POTTER AND THE PHOLOSOPHER'S STONE is for sure my favorite Harry Potter pic I've ever created. Maybe because halfway through working on it I was ready to give up because it just wouldn't work out.πŸ™ˆ I guess there is a lesson there about never giving up and all that. As you can see I am a great motivational speaker haha. ⚑ Hope your week was awesome. Mine was super busy but even so I would rate it an 8. How was yours? If you could use a spell to make something appear instantly, what would it be? πŸ“š For this pic I partnered again with the guys at @redbubble (ad). They sent me this Pizza Wizard t-shirt because they know how much I love pizza and wizards. Seriously though, can you imagine being able to conjure pizza whenever you wanted? It would have to be my mom's home made pizza though. She makes these little slices of pizza that are sooooo good. I should name them Baby Pizza. I need to trademark that. πŸ“š Anyway, because apparently I am a huge personality (thank you, thank you!), Redbubble allowed me to have my own catalogue.πŸ’ƒ (I don't know why I used this emoji, but she looks like she is dancing and at the same time showing haters that she is one level above them… or she might just do the Pyramid Dance)… Back to my super amazing catalogue that is actually called Santa James' Super Duper Awesome Gift Guide – you can find it here: rdbl.co/jamestrevino-h18 . And you can use code H18-james to get 15% off your entire order (I should use that Nicki Minaj quote with being a Degeneres Queen but I don't want Nicki or Ellen to sue my ass so…). πŸ“š I don't know why I'm rumbling so much today. For those of you who made it to the end of this caption – I'm sorry. πŸ˜‚ πŸ“• πŸ“• πŸ“• #redbubble #GiftOriginal #slytherin #slytherinpride #write #hogwarts #harrypotter #book #pottermore #bookstagram #gryffindor #instareads #lifestyleblog #honar_doostan #lettura #booktime #feelfreefeed #wizardingworldofharrypotter #harrypotterfandom #bookgram #potterheads #fantasticbeasts #pizza #jkrowling #bookstagrammer #crimesofgrindelwald #pizzahut #dumbledore #ps_magic

Which one of the fictional worlds represented in this photo is your favorite? ⚑ This is me trying to gather in one pic some of the things I love the most haha. For anyone who does not know what the symbols represent (although at this point I doubt there is someone who doesn't), we have the Deathly Hallows symbol from Harry Potter, then symbols for Percy Jackson, The Hunger Games, Shadowhunters and Divergent. They are all series that made me fall in love with reading again and again. And made my life colorful, no matter how bleak they were at points haha. #whpcolorwheel 🌊 On a different note, some of you might have seen this on my Story but if not: I finally created a Youtube channel! If you are interested in subscribing (I've been waiting for so long to say this! πŸ˜‚) you can find the link to it in my Instagram bio. It will be about books and movies and social media and stuff. I have to work with it a bit to know what will become of it. But I hope you will be there with me.😊 The first video should come sometime this week. It all depends on how fast I can get used to the editing software. πŸ”₯ But yeah, I hope you guys had an amazing week! If you had a dragon what would it's name be? 🐲 I give you James, (Probably Not) The First of His Name, Ruler of the Fiery Backgrounds, Protector of the Realm. 🐲 No, but for real now, there are so many reasons why a dragon fan should be happy this year. We get the epic conclusion to Game of Thrones and what is probably my most anticipated fantasy book of the year, The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon (and yes, I am sorry if you are tired of me continuously talking about it in my Stories πŸ˜‚). It is a brick of a book, it sounds freakin' amazing and it has one of the most gorgeous covers I have ever seen. That is exactly why I tried to recreate it with this pic. So yeah, I can't wait to get my hands on that book.😍 (not sponsored by the way, haha). 🐲 Back to my question of the day, I think I would name my dragon FinwΓ« (extra points for anyone who knows where that name is coming from πŸ˜‰). He would be either snow-white or golden. How do you want your dragon to look like? 🐲 And finally, this was a pretty damn good week. I almost caught up with Riverdale. Season 3 is insane. For many years now, Guy LaramΓ©e has been using old books to create incredible works of art. He transforms vintage tomes into amazing landscapes including mountains, volcanoes, caves and other sceneries.

One of his favourite materials are bound stacks of old dictionaries and encyclopedias which he carves his artworks using oil paints, inks, adhesives, pigments and dry pastels, crayons, and beeswax. His recent works incorporates the traditional book organizers such as metal bookends, wood stands, and box set containers, as fundamental part of the sculptures. His work is featured in the group exhibition β€œUnbound” at TwoRivers Gallery in Prince George, British Columbia until March 31, 2019.

Mike Stilkey’s collection of book art has been growing for years and it’s pretty impressive by now. The artist uses discarded books to create incredible sculptures, giving those books a new life and a very creative one.

His artwork comes in different sizes and shapes, but it’s simply mesmerizing every time. The same subject is employed in all of his work: β€œa melancholic and at times a whimsical cast of characters inhabiting ambiguous spaces and narratives of fantasy and fairy tales.”

β€œI reuse books that have been discarded or that are going to be destroyed,” Stilkey explains. β€œThere are several local libraries that I work with who donate large numbers of books to me, as they know I will give them a second life in my artwork.”

I partnered up with internationally bestselling author Anna Todd (@imaginator1d) on the release of #TheBrightestStars. πŸ“š QOTD: What do you want to see in a love story? πŸ“š For me, for a love story to be good, it has to be difficult. It has to rip me apart. You already know I love tragic endings, but when a love story is involved, it’s more about the difficulties the couple faces than about how things end. As long as they go through the worst of the worst, even if they end up fine, then I’m good. The Brightest Stars (in stores now) seems to be my kind of book from this perspective. It’s a novel about a young woman’s quest to keep her family together, despite the lies that are tearing them apart. πŸ“š SYNOPSIS: Karina knows the harsh realities of military life. And like anyone who has grown up around an army base, she knows the background noise that follows a soldier home from war. That’s why she’s forging her own quiet life in her own little house. But she hasn’t turned her back on her family. She’s the glue that holds them togetherβ€”when her father is deployed, when her brother, Austin, has another brush with the law. Karina knows that she has to look after herself, that she can’t always fix what’s broken. But when Austin’s behavior worsens and her father’s reactions grow more extreme, Karina feels her own edges beginning to fray. That’s when she meets himβ€”a closed book she’s desperate to open. At just twenty, Kale is a handsome, brooding soldier struggling with the aftermath of two tours in Afghanistan. He’s emotionally damaged and closed off. But as Karina gets used to his stable presence, she finds it hard to ignore the way he makes her feel. But illusions quickly made are quickly shattered. That’s when Karina has to find her own courageβ€”to untangle the truth from the lies, and decide what she’s going to do about it. A riveting story about love and lies, The Brightest Stars will stay with you long after the last page has been turned. πŸ“š #bookstagram #bookgram #thebrighteststars #annatodd #romance #love #instalove #readingbooks #bookstagrammer #romancereads #igreads #reads #bookgirl #stars #πŸ“š #πŸ“˜ #booksbooksbooks #bookart #art #artgram #flatlay #fromabove #πŸ“–

What's one book/series that you hated at first but then it turned out to be super good? πŸ“š You know what I'm gonna talk about. Throne of Glass. When I read the first book, I couldn't stand Celaena. I didn't believe her badassness, I didn't believe her as a character. She didn't do anything to show she's the best assassin in Adarlan, and I hated that stupid love triangle. Plus, the plot of the book was stupid. Being the King's Champion isn't the kind of job that would require a contest. πŸ“š So for more than a year I didn't touch any other book in this series. Until exactly 20 days ago when I was in the mood for something heartbreaking and I rememberd Sam (there was a small fanfic that I read on Insta that reminded me of him). So I started The Assassin's Blade and rolled my eyes so much I swear I could see the back of my head. Still, I didn't like it. And after finishing it, on a whim, I started Crown of Midnight. Cute, but average. But it made me read Heir of Fire. And oh boy. πŸ“š The funny thing is, I barely remember what happens in every book. I only remember the story. πŸ“š So now I started Tower of Dawn. πŸ“š Manon is bae and I want an origin story. πŸ“š I definitely like ToG more than ACOTAR (maybe because I read ACOTAR a long time ago, but even without that, the story in ToG is… grander). πŸ“š Pic 100% inspired by @thebookfamilyrogerson πŸ“š #whpdressup #throneofglass #kingdomofash #crownofmidnight #empireofstorms #heiroffire #theassassinsblade #aelin #aelingalathynius #chaol #chaolwestfall #dorian #manonblackbeak #manon #abraxos #maeve #acotar #sarahjmaas #sjmaas #celaenasardothien #celaena #acomaf #acowar #feyre #rhysand #bookstagram
