For some, the city life is fun and exciting. The culture, the constant movement, and the noise of the big city can be so alluring. But Jonna Jinton longed to get away from all of that. Back in  2010, she was a student in her hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden. She was living in a tiny apartment and was trying to figure out what to do with her life between working and studying. Then, she decided to leave it all behind.

She left her apartment, quit school and moved to Grundtjärn, a tiny village with only ten inhabitants, 100 miles away from her hometown, She wanted to get in touch with nature, and live a simpler life.

It wasn’t simple at first. Her house was old, the village was far away from anything. She had to figure out how to live without all the modern comforts the city had to offer. The long cold winters, the isolation and the maintenance of the house made the entire experience much less enchanting than she had imagined it.

But with time, she got used to the different pace of her new life, and finally found in nature what she was missing in the city – inspiration. She started making art and sharing her life with others on social media. Finally, she found her calling.

Today, Jonna is still living in the same remote village and spending her time making art and living a more traditional life. She shares her experiences with over 1 million subscribers on YouTube, and finally feels connected – to nature, and to others.

2019, I am so grateful that I barely can't find the words. It was the most beautiful year of my life so far. Some kind of shift in energy took place, and I really learned the power of letting go of control, to let universe work for you. . It was a year that brought me a deeper clarity to what I really want to do in life, and let go of all the "what I should do". A feeling of freedom inside of me, that I have not really felt the same way before. . This year I also started meditating for at least 10 minutes every day, and I am so incredible thankful for finally opening up that door. It definitely have a huge part in making this year so beautiful. If I could give you only one advice from my own experiences this year, it would be to take a couple of minutes for yourself every day, to close your eyes, breathe and step into the limitless world inside of you. (If your not already doing that). . This year I also married the love of my life. My soulmate Johan. I feel like we lived a thousands of lifetimes together before. Married or not, I always knew we are inseparable. But I still get tingles in my stomach everytime I get to introduce him for someone as "my husband". It just feels so good. . We also moved to the house of our dreams. An old homestead that I've been dreaming about for many years. A place where my ancestors lived 400 years ago. Its not only a house. Its our home ❤ . So thank you 2019. I will let the gratitude I feel now shape the foundation of 2020. Thank you everyone for sharing this year with me. For all your beautiful comments and engagement. I wish you all the good things in the world. Let this year bring you ease, joy and freedom ❤🙏 Much love and light to all of you! 💛

IKEA has started to work on its new store in Vienna. The seven-story store will be located in the city’s Westbahnhof station and it will be unlike any of their other stores. The building is designed to follow an eco-friendly concept.

First of all, the store is located in the city, unlike their typical stores that are built further away. This is done in an attempt to attract customers to go to the store without a car, so it doesn’t even have parking spaces. Instead, it focuses on using public transport and bikes, as well as walking. How do you get the goods you purchase then? You can simply get them delivered.

IKEA Westbahnhof will set new standards for furniture and home decor shopping. You will be able to see their complete offer across the seven floors, and there’s even going to be a room for inspiration and chilling. The building will come with green facades decorated with plants and it will have a roof terrace open to the public.

We really love the innovative design the Swedish company is applying here. The vision for the store is that it’s more of a meeting place where you can enjoy beautiful interiors with friends and take a break at the cafe, with an opportunity to see the products you like in person, which you can’t do online.

Silvia Lawrence has done more in by the age of 20 than most people do in a lifetime. She’s traveled the world, lived in seven countries and visited over 70 across five continents.

It all started ‘hen she was still a kindergartener- her parents loved to travel, and she spent her early childhood in Nepal and Japan until her home was destroyed in an earthquake, and her family had to return to the States.

15 years later, after graduating from college, all she wanted to do was travel back to Japan, her early childhood home. She spent two years there is a prestigious job but was still unhappy.

She decided to say goodbye to Japan and see the world. She spent the next couple of years as a nomad, moving from place to place, meeting new people, visiting incredible placed and eating exciting new food. Eventually, she decided to settle down, this time in Norway, where her mother had come from.

Today she’s working as a full-time blogger and living a simple life that is dedicated to celebrating the local culture, nature, and travel. It took a lot of courage to get to where she is today, but now she’s finally happy and at home.

When traveling, one of the best ways to really experience a place is to try and act like a local. This means that you should visit the famous museums, try the local food, and of course, take a shot of the best alcohol the country has to offer. Here’s a short guide on what drink to drink in which country.

Ireland: Guinness

Guinness is an Irish dark beer and also the best-selling alcoholic beverage worldwide. Other than its specific taste, the beer also has an unorthodox dark red, almost black color.

France: Champagne

Champagne is white, sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region of France, made under very strict second fermentation wine rules.

Eastern Europe: Rakia

A strong brandy made out of plumps, grapes or herbs, this is a must-have when visiting any country in Eastern Europe. As it’s very strong, you should drink it with caution, and accompanied by some local delicacy.

Russia: Vodka

Otherwise known as liquid French-fries, Vodka is a strong drink made of potatoes used for cocktails worldwide and as an extra layer to keep you warm in the harsh Russian winter.

German photographer Matthias Haker travels around the Europe and takes photos of places like that. He doesn’t just visit abandoned homes, but also cinemas, pools, and all kinds of other buildings.

The artist wants to protect the buildings from further vandalism by not revealing their locations. He simply says that they are “somewhere in Europe” and that should be enough. See for yourself how he does it below. For more, visit his Instagram profile
