]]>“The beginning of this journey was extremely heartbreaking,” his owner, Pookie Methachittiphan, relayed in an interview with Modern Cat. Adopted by Methachittiphan and her sister at only five months old, White Coffee’s beginning wasn’t easy.
Luckily, thanks to an early diagnosis, doctors could act quickly. “Coffee became very sick just one day after the diagnosis,” recalled Methachittiphan. “He didn’t show too many signs prior as we received a diagnosis quickly. We took him to see an oncologist immediately and started his first round of chemotherapy that same day.” The final rounds of chemotherapy were given to the cat once a month, the sisters were assured he was cancer-free.
Recent posts show him enjoying cuddles and kisses, as he looks adoringly to the camera. In some posts, he’s seen sporting funny costumes or fashionable sunglasses (a favorite of ours is his Harry Potter version).
“Coffee has taught us about strength and unity,” say the sisters. “He showed us how social media can bring the world together for a common purpose and taught us how love can break down barriers.” Join his ever-growing community online.

]]>Indeed, when it comes to notoriety, it’s hard to compete with Nala Cat. Sporting more than four million followers on Instagram, Nala’s legacy will likely trample ours. Her photos showcase the cat in all her glory: her lush gray coat, piercing blue eyes (albeit sometimes cross-eyed), and quirky personality will have you sold in an instant.
“The story of one kitten, Nala, starts off at a home where the owners could no longer take care of the cats and kittens because there were too many,” shared her owner, Varisiri (Pookie) Methachittiphan, on the Instagram sensation’s personal website. “Nala was then taken away to the shelter where she was separated from her original family.”
And while Methachittiphan doesn’t know what happened with the rest of the cats or kittens, Nala’s journey to stardom began on that fateful day. Aside from being a top earner on Instagram, Nala won the TikToker of the Year award at the 11th annual Shorty Awards and was even interviewed by Oprah Winfrey.
But at least according to Methachittiphan, the cat’s fame came as a total surprise. “I just started Instagram without actually thinking that she was going to be so famous,” she admits. If you’re not following her yet, now’s the time!

According to her, Gringo also liked to stand on his back paws, just like a meerkat. “He can stay a couple of minutes in that position, and it’s hilarious,” she says. He’s also quite an avid eater. “Gringo always sniffs our plates to see if there’s something good for him to eat, and he likes to steal our sponge from the kitchen just to chew it, so we have to hide it every time,” says his owner.
But when it comes to their owner-pet relationship, it was clearly a case of love at first sight. After seeing a picture of Gringo on the internet, Sabrine and Romain instantly fell in love! They contacted his then owner and adopted him on Nov. 14th, 2018 when he was 3 months old. The rest was history!

]]>His owners, Nathanial Green and Elliot Green, two visual artists, have adopted him in 2017 at the Lynchburg Humane Society on their “Free Cat Friday.” “The lady who had shown us around eventually noticed us indecisively meandering,” Elliot Green recalled in an interview with Bored Panda. “She stopped to tell us that she had a favorite, but that he had some issues and was sick. She took us to the medical wing to show us this tiny kitten who was recovering from a head cold.”
He admits that when he was told that the kitten was blind he was a bit worried. “As a full-time student also working two jobs, I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to provide Merlin with the attention he needed,” he explained. “As soon as I got to hold him, I think it was pretty obvious that he was perfect.”
The Greens have since curated a delightfully aesthetic Instagram page for Merlin, showcasing his undeniable beauty. They also have buzzing Twitter accounts where they share about his day-to-day.
“Honestly, we forget that he has blind eyes,” they say. “When we first moved to our apartment, he definitely had trouble navigating, but he learns quickly and really knows how to own the space. His greatest recurring struggle is from our coffee table’s glass edges: Every now and then, he’ll jump or walk into it, but we think he’s learned. All he really cares about is where the food is and how far away it is from his dads.”
How adorable is that?
