]]> When Dora Ngai woke up on September 3rd, 2020, she had no clue about the surprise that was waiting for her. That was the day when she, unexpectedly, become a boar mom.

The Chinese vlogger currently lives in Sri Lanka with her boyfriend, four dogs, and a wild boar named Yezhu. The wild baby was placed in a box and found by Ngai’s gardener. She and her boyfriend took the critter under their wing.

“We read online that she would need to be fed every hour, my boyfriend and I took turns sleeping in the living room with her for almost the first four weeks. Feeding her every hour when she wakes up and starts crying. It was really like taking care of a baby for us,” the vlogger said in an interview for Bored Panda.

Although they had some difficulties in the beginning the couple managed to bring up their new family member. Now Yezhu is a grown boar, who loves her dog siblings, has a little home and swimming pool just for her. You can see beautiful photos on the vlogger’s Instagram account, where she has gained more than 20,000 followers.

The Melbourne-based graphic designer incorporates greenery into her compositions and reveals that she lives in an urban jungle surrounded by indoor plants, and she is loving it! Being the creator of a project titled Good Weather Club she explains that she likes making her illustrations colorful and vibrant.

“I like to start with a person or a pose and work it into a possible scene. What they’re doing can inspire the scenery around them. I go straight in with color when I’m drawing, but as the image develops I tweak the colors to suit each other,” the artist shared in an interview for Ballpit and added that in addition to create her art she uses her iPad and Procreate.

]]> Roos Heuvelman is a 22-year-old illustrator and visual designer from The Netherlands “who translates your ideas and concepts into images with a meaningful message.” Although she received a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Multimedia Design, she has a passion for illustrating.

She depicts female figures using a bright and colorful palette. She currently has over 5,000 Instagram followers and hopes that with her illustrations she’ll make women and girls confident and true to themselves.

“I usually start with a simple sketch and put together a color palette. Sometimes I immediately start coloring shapes, and I automatically see what happens,” she shared in an interview for Ballpit. “I like drawing characters the most, so I usually start with the character and then come up with a background later.”

Just like many of her colleagues, Heuvelman likes creating illustrations digitally. As she explains, she likes it because she can correct any mistakes and use various textures and effects.

]]> Vicki Ling is a Chicago-based visual artist and illustrator with a strong eye for detail. In her latest project, Hanging By a String she draws a red string that she wraps around different objects, exploring the fragility of modern life.

“Contemporary lifestyles tend to obscure various crises that spontaneously erupt, from privacy invasions to public health issues and from climate change to personal emotional disorders, etc.,” the artist told Colossal. “Often our preoccupations are so overwhelming that they lead us to conceal our anxiety in oblivion. I’m interested in surfacing that sense of tension and insecurity and raise these issues to our collect(ive) consciousness.”

Ling got her Masters of Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London back in 2013. Meanwhile, she publishes her work online, she is currently available for commissions and collaborations as well.

]]> Daishi Luo and Zhipeng Tan are the members of a creative design duo which creates furniture inspired by the human body, including tall spinal chairs with pelvis seats and other stuff you might find odd.

The creators of Mán-Mán Studio explain that their art pieces are made of copper, “because of the charm of the material. Copper is alive, its plasticity is very high, and it is not what we always see.”

“This is an introspection behavior in the process of industry. After industrial mass production meets most of the needs of life, handicraft often represents the products of nature and culture. People begin to pursue the appeal of inner spirit instead of fast consumption,” they said in an interview for China Design Centre.

They exhibited their work in galleries both locally and internationally, in cities like Milano, Shanghai, Miami, etc.

]]> The gifted Britnie Walston has been an artist for more than a decade and has done numerous artwork. She describes herself as a “versatile, but primarily a traditional and abstract artist, capturing energy through light, vibrant color, depth, and texture.”

Currently, she is creating fluid paintings and landscapes mixing each individual color using acrylic paint, floetrol, and water.

“In addition, I also mix pouring medium, followed by a few drops of silicone into select colors. A chemical reaction is created by air bubbles while mixing, the addition of silicone oil, and water. Together, they create ‘cell-like’ forms,” the artist shared on Bored Panda and added that to reach the abstract look, she uses a blow torch or heat gun to bring out the cells.

“I also achieve different designs and textures using household objects such as strainers, straws, and frosting spatulas. The emotions during the creating process, are reflected in my work.”

]]> Graduation is one of the most important events in every student’s life. However, due to the coronavirus quarantine, most of the schools are closed. The same goes for Japan, but because their school year ends in March and start in April, some students will probably miss their graduation ceremonies. However, a couple of elementary graduates decided they will have their own ceremony in their favorite online game, Minecraft!

“The elementary students gathered to start graduation themselves. They spent all day online together playing games and laughing. I’m glad they all had fun,” a Japanese dad who goes by the pseudonym @backyennew on Twitter shared his son’s graduation ceremony and the feedback was amazing!

 “Modern problems require modern solutions”, one Twitter user commented on the post which has gathered more than 85,000 likes and has over 27,000 retweets so far.

]]> Vicki Ling is a Chicago-based visual artist and illustrator with a strong eye for detail. In her latest project, Hanging By a String she draws a red string that she wraps around different objects, exploring the fragility of modern life.

“Contemporary lifestyles tend to obscure various crises that spontaneously erupt, from privacy invasions to public health issues and from climate change to personal emotional disorders, etc.,” the artist told Colossal. “Often our preoccupations are so overwhelming that they lead us to conceal our anxiety in oblivion. I’m interested in surfacing that sense of tension and insecurity and raise these issues to our collect(ive) consciousness.”

Ling got her Masters of Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London back in 2013. Meanwhile, she publishes her work online, she is currently available for commissions and collaborations as well.

]]> Daishi Luo and Zhipeng Tan are the members of a creative design duo which creates furniture inspired by the human body, including tall spinal chairs with pelvis seats and other stuff you might find odd.

The creators of Mán-Mán Studio explain that their art pieces are made of copper, “because of the charm of the material. Copper is alive, its plasticity is very high, and it is not what we always see.”

“This is an introspection behavior in the process of industry. After industrial mass production meets most of the needs of life, handicraft often represents the products of nature and culture. People begin to pursue the appeal of inner spirit instead of fast consumption,” they said in an interview for China Design Centre.

They exhibited their work in galleries both locally and internationally, in cities like Milano, Shanghai, Miami, etc.

Made from the finest dough, the beautifully decorated deliciousness looks like a true masterpiece. Braided, decorated or plain, the bread often features layers of yummy fruits and vegetables that add a touch of color to Hannah’s artwork.

“There’s something sort of satisfying about baking with the last of what ya got,” the artist shared on her Instagram profile where she has attracted more than 116,000 followers. “There’s something I started this account a few years ago at the prompting of my surrogate little sister, @littlesouvenirs, who saw my increasingly obsessive sourdough hobby and thought I should share the images I was already taking with the rest of the world.”

Although hanami — the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the transient beauty of flowers — is one of the most loved events in Japan, the citizens are choosing to stay indoors. ]]> The gifted Britnie Walston has been an artist for more than a decade and has done numerous artwork. She describes herself as a “versatile, but primarily a traditional and abstract artist, capturing energy through light, vibrant color, depth, and texture.”

Currently, she is creating fluid paintings and landscapes mixing each individual color using acrylic paint, floetrol, and water.

“In addition, I also mix pouring medium, followed by a few drops of silicone into select colors. A chemical reaction is created by air bubbles while mixing, the addition of silicone oil, and water. Together, they create ‘cell-like’ forms,” the artist shared on Bored Panda and added that to reach the abstract look, she uses a blow torch or heat gun to bring out the cells.

“I also achieve different designs and textures using household objects such as strainers, straws, and frosting spatulas. The emotions during the creating process, are reflected in my work.”

You can see the final result on her social media accounts where she posts images of her creations, her online store, and on her YouTube channel where she shares tutorials, DIY’s, and other tricks and tips.

]]> Graduation is one of the most important events in every student’s life. However, due to the coronavirus quarantine, most of the schools are closed. The same goes for Japan, but because their school year ends in March and start in April, some students will probably miss their graduation ceremonies. However, a couple of elementary graduates decided they will have their own ceremony in their favorite online game, Minecraft!

“The elementary students gathered to start graduation themselves. They spent all day online together playing games and laughing. I’m glad they all had fun,” a Japanese dad who goes by the pseudonym @backyennew on Twitter shared his son’s graduation ceremony and the feedback was amazing!

 “Modern problems require modern solutions”, one Twitter user commented on the post which has gathered more than 85,000 likes and has over 27,000 retweets so far.
