The post 13-Year-Old Gamer “Beats” NES Tetris 34 Years After Its Release appeared first on PlayJunkie.
]]>NES Tetris became notorious in the gaming community for being incredibly hard to play after a certain level. Before 2021, gamers managed to only hit Level 38 before it became impossible to keep up with the pace of the game.
However, in 2021, a new technique called “rolling” was discovered, enabling players to push the limits of the game. Even then, it was believed that the game could only be played until Level 155 before a “kill screen” – a term used to describe a point in which classic games crash due to code limitations – appears.
In December, Tetris champion Justin “Fractal” Yu and Blue Scuti organized a match in which they wanted to see who would reach the “kill screen” first. Blue Scuti reached Level 155 first but then went on to progress two more levels, getting to Level 157 before the game crashed.
“I’m going to pass out, I can’t feel my fingers,” the 13-year-old kid said after needing 40 minutes to complete the run and “beat” NES Tetris.
Previous experiments using Artificial Intelligence software showed that NES Tetris can be played all the way to Level 255 if all the crash points are avoided. At that point, the player would be met with a red scheme, which, when beaten, would take him back to the starting level.

“Making a dragon costume is no easy feat,” the artist shared on Bored Panda. “Especially when you spend two months making it and it wrecked me to no end.”
There were days when she was working 12 hours a day, however, unfortunately, her foam costume didn’t win.
“To say the least, I didn’t win it, but I gained a ton of experience with foam and 3D prints during the process of making this,” she added. “I mean how many foam dragon costumes have you even seen being worn?”

]]>Classics, after all, deserve to be what they are — classics. Untouched by modern technology.
As it turns out though, Disney was just bidding their time. With the release of the remake of The Lion King, they went on to prove that there is a place for modernized and realistic versions of the classic characters that most of us grew up watching.
Now, while The Lion King was certainly not the first remake that Disney ever released, it was easily one of the most impactful.
The Lion King is widely considered one of the best animated films of all time. Disney took a huge gamble in trying to create a modernized and realistic version of it.
Thankfully, they succeeded. Now, perhaps more than ever, fans are asking for more.
With modern remakes of Dumbo and Aladdin having already been released, as well as The Little Mermaid, Maleficent and Lady and the Tramp slated to release sooner rather than later, it’s safe to say that fans are going to get exactly what they want.
For Chilean illustrator Fernanda Suarez, that gives her all the more reason to recreate some of Disney’s most iconic characters in her own photorealistic vision.

A couple of months ago, he began a project where he illustrated a handful of items and weapons from his favorite video games and posted on Reddit.
“After reaching the front page I reached tones of messages from people asking to add their favorite items too,” he added. “This picture is the result of that! It took me several weeks on and off to complete and I’m quite pleased with how it turned out.”
He turned his artwork into a print which you can purchase from his Etsy store.

]]>The post Fan Art Shows What Ganon From Breath of the Wild Sequel Might Look Like appeared first on PlayJunkie.
]]>So, it was to no one’s surprise that a sequel was eventually announced to be coming sooner rather than later, with its announcement trailer dropping at E3 2019 last June.
While everyone was busy marveling at the possibility of playing a sequel to arguably one of the greatest game of its generation, some couldn’t help but catch a glimpse at a couple of noteworthy things that was included in the trailer. In particular, the dehydrated corpse, or what looks like the remains, of the series’ main antagonist, Ganon.
Seeing this, artist Nicholas Kole started to wonder what Ganon would look like if he was hydrated. No, not like a spectral ghost or monster, or anything like that. Just a regular old bad guy with a humanoid body.
Being the artist that he was, Nicholas put his creative chops to good use.
Using in-game models and textures as inspiration, as well as the in-game look of the Gerudo — a reclusive race in the Zelda universe made up mostly only of women except for the lone man destined to be their king that’s born every one hundred years — Nicholas created a look fitting of that of an antagonist.
