Chace Mao describes himself as a real-life Pokémon Bug-Catcher aka Entomologist in a Natural History Museum, who enjoys discovering new bugs or animals, much like discovering new Pokémon and adding it to his dex. He also has a huge passion for drawing and has been turning Pokémon into photos and bringing new life into places, since 2016.
“Like training a Pokémon, as I gained more experience in drawing them, my drawings evolved,” the artist shared with Bored Panda. “I have to admit I am still learning to draw from other artists or photographers, be it new techniques, new styles or new perceptions. Learning is always part of the adventure, isn’t it? Sometimes it is fun and eye-opening, other times – it is challenging.”
