The post Muse – The Device That Makes Meditation Easier Than Ever appeared first on PlayJunkie.
]]>Muse is a device that looks a lot like a headband, but its magic power is that it can provide neurofeedback in real-time during meditation. Even though this sounds complicated, the tool is pretty easy to use. You put the device on your head, just like a headband, with the sensors touching your forehead. Then, you play whatever music you like to meditate on, or you can enjoy in the unique sounds offered by Muse via their mobile app.
As you try to control your thought process, Muse will measure the activity of your brain and find out if your mind is active or calm. For you to recognize the state of your mind, the Muse will translate the information that it received into weather sounds, and you can review your mind activity after every session.
Are you ready to train your mind? Order your Muse as soon as possible!

]]>Andrew Rae decided to capture these moments through art, he made illustrations with monsters bursting out of people’s phones. He told Bored Panda that his inspiration behind the project occurred after trying to avoid walking into people on their phones.
“I try to have a walk every morning to counter my sedentary lifestyle and it’s hard not to bump into all the people immersed in their phones. I started picturing the phones as if they’re little pets or creatures and people are tickling their bellies to keep them happy.”
He worked on the project with his friend Ruskin Kyle, who took a lot of street photography and sent him some of his work over. When his initial idea of having the phones be creatures didn’t pan out, he decided to make the creatures pop out of the phones. He came up with the idea after listening to Joe Rogan interviewing Edward Snowden on the idea of NASA monitoring people through smartphones.
“Instead of replacing the phones I’d draw objects or creatures coming out of the phones looking back at us and the different styles of the photograph and the drawing would make sense together as the phone screen is like a portal where the real world and the digital world meet.”
Can you put down your phone long enough to commute to work? Check out more of Rae’s drawings below.

]]>This team of designers from Peleg Design decided to make our lives a bit easier, cuter, and more fun when it comes to the everyday operations we handle. They created such simple products, you won’t believe someone even thought of them!
For example, you can use Egguins to boil, store and serve eggs in penguin bellies, or use Daisy to avoid the pain of the unsuccessful egg separation. Fold your napkins like flowers, place your flowers in weird places around the house, or cut your strawberries in the shape of a heart.
Peleg Design is an eight-member design studio whose mission is to create home and office products that revolve around three principles: aesthetics, humor, and functionality. They often rely on optical illusions to create a new view of a regular object.

]]>The post Japan Begins Testing ALFA-X, The Fastest Train In The World appeared first on PlayJunkie.
]]>This time, they have broken the record by creating the fastest so-called bullet train, the Shinkansen ALFA- X, which stands for Advanced Labs for Frontline Activity in rail experimentation.
This comes as no surprise, considering that rail transport is one of the most popular ways of traveling and commuting across the country.
The ALFA-X is built by Kawasaki Heavy Industry and Hitachi, and even though it can develop a full speed of 400 km per hour (249mph), it is currently transporting passengers with speed of 360 km/h (225mph). The train uses magnetic plates to slow down and has a set of air brakes besides the conventional ones. The official launch is planned in 2030, but before that, the train will go on night test travels between the cities of Aomori and Sendai for three years.
The first car of the train has a rather unusual form, with a sleek 22-meter-long nose that makes it better equipped to deal with the wind when entering tunnels. In total, the train has ten cars, all of which are painted metallic silver and decorated with green stripes. See the cutting-edge, futuristic design in the photos below!

]]>The 42-year-old Chilean artist presented eight 3D-modeled and 3D-printed sculptures of different significant figures that shaped the technology world as we know it today.
You will have the chance to see Edward Snowden, Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and others in a 3D-printed version as mythological gods or emperors with the aesthetic of Roman statues.
This exhibition is the product of five years devoted to exploring the impact that technology has both in our intimate worlds and in the bigger picture as well while focusing on biotechnology, nanorobotics, and social economics.
The 3D-printed models were previously available only in digital form and could be seen with the help of augmented reality, but the visitors at the Elizabeth Collective in New York will have a chance to see them in real life until the 24th of May. If you are nearby, this is an excellent exhibition that deserves your attention.
