]]>Debossing is a technique in which a design is imprinted into a material to create a depressed effect. Using various techniques and tricks, Gulliver manages to achieve this effect on the client’s skin using only ink.
Gulliver’s social media pages are full of debossed tattoos, and each one is more impressive than the others. They include imprinted symbols, lettering, animals, and many more.
For example, one of his designs saw him creating a “missing puzzle” on a client’s arm. It shows two puzzle pieces that are seemingly missing from the arm, and it is so convincing that you would have a hard time realizing it is an optical illusion even if you had seen it in person.
Gulliver also creates various other tattoo designs, including 3D tattoos and embossed tattoos, with the latter featuring an elevated effect. However, debossed pieces remain his most impressive works. Check out more of them below.

]]>Keith Anderson is a loving dad from Ontario with a passion for tattoos. His son, Kai, loves drawing, and Keith, who’s been watching him grow and change so quickly over the years, has decided to combine the two most important things in his life – his son and tattoos – into something unique. Every year, Keith picks on of Kai’s drawing, sets up an appointment in his local tattoo parlor, and tattoos that painting on his arm.
Keith started tattooing his son’s art on his body when Kai was 5. It was a way to keep his son close, and to celebrate his childhood forever. Keith has been tattooing Kai’s drawings ever since and will continue to do so until Kai doesn’t want to do it anymore. But for now, Kai seems to be completely on board – he even accompanied Keith to his last session and helped the tattoo artist. We hope he stays on board for a long time – and that Keith keeps celebrating his love for his son for many more years.

Nevertheless, he realized that human skin was his favorite material to work with. “While making art, I realized that a person’s body is the most valuable material and that I want to make people happy when they look at my work on their bodies… I don’t think there’s anything more gratifying than carrying the fairytale design that one imagines in his body all his life,” the artist wrote for Bored Panda.
Karadagis says that his art is “his everything” and it’s mostly inspired by nature, animals and all those childhood memories that his clients hold dear.
“I’m passionate about nature and animals because I believe that the more dependent we are on nature, the more free we are as individuals.”

The outcome was truly stunning as the tattoo ended up resembling the work of a classical painter.
Rose’s painting-like tattoos aren’t a surprise when you know her first passion was painting.
“The feel and the mood brought through by my color palette and my style of tattooing is influenced by the way I like to paint and now vice versa as I spend a lot more time tattooing, they lend interestingly to each other,” she explained in a recent interview with Colossal.

]]>Honing her craft by practicing first on her friends, she started out by working out of a private loft space in her friends’ apartment. “I was doing it on the down-low, and I was on edge because it wasn’t an official shop,” she told The Great Discontent. It wasn’t until 2012 that she opened her own shop.
“The biggest challenge was that I was unable to get an apprenticeship because there wasn’t anyone who could teach me this form of tattooing,” she says. “Because of that, I literally just tried out a bunch of different methods until it felt right, and then I tweaked it as I went.”
Nowadays, her process is relatively straight forward. “When clients come in, I already have a good idea of what they want, because at that point we’ll have already emailed or talked about it over the phone,” she says. “Then I draw up the design and get the A-OK from the client before making a stencil. Once the stencil is made, I put it onto the person’s skin, and we decide on a placement that they like. Then we make it happen. The setup is clean and sterile, and everything is the same setup as it is with a machine, except for the tools I’m using.”
A palm-sized tattoo usually takes between 1-2 hours, a hand sized one takes 3 hours but back pieces can vary from 22- 40 hours depending on the size, detail, and coverage. Take a look at some of her work in the gallery below:

I would call my style surrealistic.”
California-born tattoo artist Tati Compton (real name Tatiana Kartomten) has made a name for herself thanks to her “stick-n-poke” technique. “I started doing tattoos on an impetus – for an experience or out of boredom or from a feeling and it didn’t really matter how it looked or turned out,” she admitted in an interview with Tattoo Life. “It was more about the act and experience. It was free – I didn’t have to ask anyone for anything – It was DIY, it was immediate, and it was fun. I don’t know how to use a machine, this is the only way I know how to tattoo.” The end result is undeniably cool.
