Tattoo art has seen a rapid evolution in recent decades. Thanks to numerous talented individuals, the tattoo designs are more daring, innovative, and lifelike than ever. One of them is British tattoo artist Daniel Gulliver, who is known for creating designs that look like they are debossed into the skin.
Debossing is a technique in which a design is imprinted into a material to create a depressed effect. Using various techniques and tricks, Gulliver manages to achieve this effect on the client’s skin using only ink.
Gulliver’s social media pages are full of debossed tattoos, and each one is more impressive than the others. They include imprinted symbols, lettering, animals, and many more.
For example, one of his designs saw him creating a “missing puzzle” on a client’s arm. It shows two puzzle pieces that are seemingly missing from the arm, and it is so convincing that you would have a hard time realizing it is an optical illusion even if you had seen it in person.
Gulliver also creates various other tattoo designs, including 3D tattoos and embossed tattoos, with the latter featuring an elevated effect. However, debossed pieces remain his most impressive works. Check out more of them below.
