Dami Nam is a South Korean tattoo artist who is slowly taking over the tattoo world with her unique vertical tattoos.
Working within imaginary lines, Nam manages to capture serene moments and beautiful landscapes in great detail on her clients’ bodies. They are presented in narrow frames that stretch vertically across the skin while often featuring elements that pop out and break the illusion of confinement.
Nam, who has been working as a tattoo artist for the past seven years, is primarily inspired by traditional Korean art and decoration. However, her works also feature pop culture elements and scenes from movies, TV shows, and anime.
“I like the beauty of the old things, from the beautiful colors to paintings with traditional beauty as well as traditional decorations that are not used in modern times. Aside from that, the scenery I see and a beautiful scene from a movie can be sources for my tattoo work,” she shared in a recent interview with Things & Ink magazine.
