White Coffee Cat deserves all the petting and “good boys” a cat can get. An Instagram sensation known for his dramatic blue eyes and snow-white fur, he’s also a hero, having survived cancer.

“The beginning of this journey was extremely heartbreaking,” his owner, Pookie Methachittiphan, relayed in an interview with Modern Cat. Adopted by Methachittiphan and her sister at only five months old, White Coffee’s beginning wasn’t easy.

Luckily, thanks to an early diagnosis, doctors could act quickly. “Coffee became very sick just one day after the diagnosis,” recalled Methachittiphan. “He didn’t show too many signs prior as we received a diagnosis quickly. We took him to see an oncologist immediately and started his first round of chemotherapy that same day.” The final rounds of chemotherapy were given to the cat once a month, the sisters were assured he was cancer-free.

Recent posts show him enjoying cuddles and kisses, as he looks adoringly to the camera. In some posts, he’s seen sporting funny costumes or fashionable sunglasses (a favorite of ours is his Harry Potter version).

“Coffee has taught us about strength and unity,” say the sisters. “He showed us how social media can bring the world together for a common purpose and taught us how love can break down barriers.” Join his ever-growing community online.

When Dora Ngai woke up on September 3rd, 2020, she had no clue about the surprise that was waiting for her. That was the day when she, unexpectedly, become a boar mom.

The Chinese vlogger currently lives in Sri Lanka with her boyfriend, four dogs, and a wild boar named Yezhu. The wild baby was placed in a box and found by Ngai’s gardener. She and her boyfriend took the critter under their wing.

“We read online that she would need to be fed every hour, my boyfriend and I took turns sleeping in the living room with her for almost the first four weeks. Feeding her every hour when she wakes up and starts crying. It was really like taking care of a baby for us,” the vlogger said in an interview for Bored Panda.

Although they had some difficulties in the beginning the couple managed to bring up their new family member. Now Yezhu is a grown boar, who loves her dog siblings, has a little home and swimming pool just for her. You can see beautiful photos on the vlogger’s Instagram account, where she has gained more than 20,000 followers.

Some squads are superior to others—and Harriet Birch’s Sausage Squad is high above the rest. Composed of five adorable Daschunds, this is one squad you want to run into, and then give it a good belly rub.

According to Birch, she knew she wanted a Daschund early on, and later begged her parent to get one. Her first sausage pup, Missy, came into her life over 10 years ago.

Missy then went on to have two litters, and Birch kept a dog from each—Button and Duke. But then Duke found a girlfriend and they had their own litter, with Apple completing the squad.

Now all five dogs—Missy, Button, Duke, Ivy, and Apple—are living the life. Based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, they amassed a huge following online, with fans who have grown obsessed with the cute pups and their journey.

But having a pampered squad comes at a price, and Birch admits to spending £800 a month on clothes, accessories, photoshoots, treats, toys, beds, blankets, food, and insurance: “They are worth every single penny,” she told Metro. And we can see why!

Illustrator and graphic designer Nina Stajner is known for her tender, whimsical, and cute animal characters – mainly woodland critters – drawn in a soft and delicate manner. Her work mostly employs traditional tools like watercolors, gouache, and colored pencils, with finishing touches sometimes added digitally.

“Most of my work is drawn by hand the old-school way, and painted patiently with watercolors and gouache,” she further relayed in an interview with Society6’s blog. “First layers are quite relaxed, but at the end I somehow find the patience to make all the tiny details and make my characters come to life. I do all the repeat patterns digitally in Photoshop or Illustrator.”

“I love creating animal characters,” she adds. “In my body of work, they are mostly coming from a woodland environment—that is because I draw things that are close to me and I can see in person if I am lucky,” she notes.

Based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, her artwork is featured on products like enamel pins, notebooks, coloring books, notepads, and greeting cards, with her clients including brands like Papyrus, Little Blue Nest, Craft Consortium, Lilipinso, and Lake Coloring. Besides commercial work, Stajner enjoys self-initiating projects where she collaborates with other artists, experiments, and challenge herself further.

“The world around me inspires me very much,” says Stajner. “While I work, I love to stylize them, make them more simple and less realistic. But then I want to add so many details that they appear alive again. Like they actually exist somewhere in the world. Oh, what a happy place that would be.”

A happy place it is.

Bournemouth-based illustrator, George Tonks, is known for his colorful animal illustrations. Combining his passions for wildlife and illustration, he creates colorful and empathetic characters, full of spunk. It’s the kind of illustrations you’d want to hang in a child’s bedroom, and luckily for you, Tonks sells prints in his Etsy store.

According to Yes, I’m a Designer, Tonks’ inspiration for drawing animals and wildlife originates from watching nature documentaries, such as David Attenborough’s Planet Earth and Blue Planet. His creative process includes spending a lot of time sketching in small thumbnails size. According to Tonks, drawing in small scale gives him creative freedom to work out a composition, shape, proportions, silhouette, and everything else that comes into character illustration.

Using a digital practice (mainly ProCreate), he creates his characters through a series of mark making to add texture and body. Understanding the animals’ anatomy is also important — a practice which he learned through animal observations, as well as studying other illustrators.

Tonks then exaggerates certain features or parts of the animal anatomy, adding an ounce of “wonkiness” to his finished creations (which makes them all the more delightful). According to him, having a distinguishable silhouette is key in character illustrations.

Today we are going to meet a real celebrity in the dog world! Sushi The Cockapoo, better known as Sushi Said on Instagram, is the adorable Cockapoo with cute blue ears who is taking over social media.

Sushi is not only popular on Instagram, but she’s also a TikTok content creator with over 1.4 million fans who follow her on a daily basis. This dog loves to make people laugh and, according to her owners, she has quite an interesting personality. They say their pet is intelligent, sensitive, and very expressive. And they, of course, emphasize that her ears are “vegan, non-toxic & dog-friendly.”

“She is also very particular about her wants and needs. Example #1 – she loves cheese but will only eat ‘real’ cheeses. She refuses to eat American, processed, or Krafts cheese. Example #2 – she loves pistachios and almonds but will not eat them unless you chew them up for her first. She wants everything done a certain way,” Sushi’s owner said to Hello Bark.

Sushi is a great doggy model with a unique attitude and the most expressive eyes we’ve seen lately. If you don’t believe us, just take a look at these heartwarming photos of her below.

A dog in Washington County recently brought home a baby animal, but very soon it turned out that the rescued orphan was not just any animal — it was a bear cub!

The poor cub was found in pretty bad shape, dehydrated and underweight. Luckily, the orphaned animal was instantly transported to the Wildlife Center of Virginia where the entire team worked hard to help him. As he weighed only 540g (about 1.2 lb), the cub was put into an incubator and the staff made sure to bottle-feed him the entire time.

“It’s a great example of all of us working together to provide what a wild animal needs most!” Amanda Nicholson, the director of outreach at the Wildlife Center, told Bored Panda.

Don’t worry, because this story has a happy ending! The black bear cub recovered in no time and the Wildlife Center has found him a foster family. The cub is now out in the wild, with his new mom and siblings who will look after him.

Nicholson stated that this situation is not that unusual and that the Wildlife Center has received wild animals before.

“It is fairly common for us to receive wild animals that have been picked up by pets, but it’s uncommon that they are uninjured. Sadly, we see a significant number of injured wildlife from free-roaming housecats, and dogs will also often disturb nests of some ground-dwelling wildlife,” she said.

Before we say goodbye to this little guy, make sure to take a look at these heart-warming videos below.

Inspired by her two Vizsla dogs, Marianne (who goes by her first name only) launched Trotting Dog, a dog-loving brand that sells anything from humorous greetings cards to personalized gifts and stationery. Running her business from her home, situated on the beautiful Isle of Wight, Marianne sells her designs to dog lovers all over the world.

Her designs feature mainly Vizslas but not exclusively. “We do love creating gorgeous illustrated dog collections but more importantly support people who work to rescue and re-home Vizslas,” reads Trotting Dog’s website. Her products might feature Spike, her Hungarian Vizsla, or Milo a rescue Vizsla cross who joined the pack last year after being rescued from the streets of Cyprus. “As a result, we want to give a little back to help other gingers find loving homes too,” she writes.

Her business was founded in 2017 after Marianne crowdfunded and self-published a children’s book featuring illustrations of Spike. Her drawings became so popular she decided to create lots more cards and personalized gifts for dog lovers. Now, Marianne hand prints her designs herself on mugs, bags, cushion covers, and prints.

“The beauty of being a creative today is that I really can personally connect with my customers and design things using their feedback and ideas,” she shared with the Printed blog. “I love that I am part of a global pack of dog lovers which the internet and social media has opened up. As a bit of a late starter, I am 47 and solo parent my kids, working in the creative industry from home with an online business has been completely accessible.”

Take a look at some of her adorable designs in the gallery below:

From their extremely friendly nature to adorable short stature, it’s pretty much impossible to make a list of all the reasons why we love Corgis so much. Workers in Utiwapayna bakery in Japan are doing their best to celebrate the cutest feature of this breed – their adorable fluffy butts.

The bakery recently updated their menu and made it cuter by offering Corgi butt-shaped bread buns to its clients. You’ve probably seen, if not in person then at least on photos, how cute these dogs look from behind, especially when they stretch out their legs behind them.

Well, Utiwapayna bakery was so moved by this breed’s cuteness, that they turned it into an interesting business idea. Not only did they perfectly capture Corgi’s shapely buns with the addition of their cute short legs and signature bobtail, but the buns also look very tasty! They’re filled with jam or custard, which makes them pretty much perfect!

This is not the first time for Utiwapayna bakery to make a creative move like this. They’ve been selling puppy-shaped bread loaves and cat-shaped buns for years now. But considering the fact that Corgis are very popular in Japan, we can only guess that this is going to be their most popular baked good so far. So if you ever happen to be in Sapporo, Japan, stop by for a cute and delicious bite of these unusual buns.

Sculpture Jason Lyons uses found objects as the basis of his work, creating organic sculptures based on forms found in the natural world. Led by the materials themselves, it is the organic nature of many of the man-made objects he reclaims that serve as the initial inspiration for his work, lending themselves to the organic figures Lyons goes on to create.

“Creations from man-made objects discarded as refuse and reinterpreted to form objects found in nature are the inspirations for my art,” he states on his website. “The simple spoon forms the body of a rainbow trout; a discarded children’s toy becomes the foundation for a moose; horseshoes transform into armadillos.”

Consisting of primarily wood or metal, the reclaimed objects are transformed from their mechanized human intentions into organic figures found in nature. “I look for these shapes buried within objects,” Lyons further explained in a piece he wrote for Artsy Shark. “I then utilize these shapes and reinterpret them into the anatomical structures that make up the organic sculptures I create.”

According to Lyons, through his inherent passion for the discarded object, he has developed a unique perspective and talent to visually dissect, reinterpret and then repurpose the materials found in his sculptures. “I look for the potential in every object to be a valuable contributor to the sculptures I create,” he says.

Because, ultimately, who’s to say if a spoon handle isn’t actually a bird’s wing waiting to take flight?
