]]>Davaá’s creative process could be described as sculpting and painting coming together in a single piece of art. The artist crafts her melting frames by hand and then creates a painting that perfectly fits the frame, creating an uninterrupted illusion.
Most of the time, paintings inside Davaá’s melting frames are inspired by the paintings of Old Masters or represent recreations of their works. By doing so, she is “trying to destroy” her academic artistic formation and “create room” for contemporary art.
“My art is always about my feelings. It’s a way to self-communicate with my inner me and we can say that sometimes it’s the subjects that choose me first. This process is chaotic and unconscious, it’s like doing therapy,” the artist explained in a recent interview with Art Squat.
Davaá shares her newest projects on Instagram, where she has more than 160K followers. She also operates an Etsy shop, where she offers her artwork as well as melting frames for mirrors. You can check out more of her melting art below.

]]>“Contemporary lifestyles tend to obscure various crises that spontaneously erupt, from privacy invasions to public health issues and from climate change to personal emotional disorders, etc.,” the artist told Colossal. “Often our preoccupations are so overwhelming that they lead us to conceal our anxiety in oblivion. I’m interested in surfacing that sense of tension and insecurity and raise these issues to our collect(ive) consciousness.”
Ling got her Masters of Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London back in 2013. Meanwhile, she publishes her work online, she is currently available for commissions and collaborations as well.

]]>With his work, he tries to evoke the absurdity found in mundane actions of everyday life. When creating his art, Wurm says, he creates his sculptures intuitively believing that “it is better to go where the material and the ideas lead me, rather than to follow any predetermined strategy.”
“The common thread is the idea of the human body and its relation to sculptural concerns,” the artist shared in an interview with Design Broom. “The One Minute Forever sculptures, for example, address ideas around time and permanence associated with sculpture. There are additionally abstracted forms meant to translate realistic bodily parts, for example, tennis balls which serve as a stand-in for eyes.”
Living and working in Vienna and Limberg, Wurm’s work has been exhibited in galleries worldwide and published in various media. He also shares images on his Instagram account, so if you got interested, just keep on scrolling!

]]>Her work questions gender and sexuality, identity and reality, through digital media. She is the star and co-creator of the short film American Reflexxx which she and her girlfriend Alli Coates released in 2015. The film reached more than 2 million views on YouTube and it’s about masses trying to gender-identify Pierce in a violent and dehumanizing manner, while she is just walking down the street. The film garnered instant attention online by the general and expert audience and it served as an introduction to her conceptual work, often described as cyberfeminist.
Pierce’s video works have been shown at MoMA, NY, MdbK, Leipzig, Athens Biennial, Palais de Tokyo, and many other international museums and galleries. She has a BFA degree from the School of Visual Arts and has received many acknowledgments for her work during the last 10 years.

]]>Fauci was born in Italy but resides in Berlin. His art pieces are mesmerizing because he uses really thick layers of acrylic and ceramic modeling paste. He blends abstraction and surrealism as well as ambiguity, and transformation.
The series is meant to pass a message of self-love and approval to women in a world which is saturated with unreachable standards of beauty.
Each painting is a little different, the subject of each one if posing in a different position, which mirrors the never-ending search for perfection. All the faces of his paintings are blurred out.
