Japanese artist Yuichi Ikehata combines sculpture, photography, and digital editing to create amazing work of art. It begins as figurative wire sculptures and using digital elements, it turns into something realistic. The peculiar humanoid forms reveal basic structures with pierced holes in their plaster-like skin, appearing them to be in decaying conditions.
For the process, Ikehata first photographs his own body in different positions. Then he uses wires to recreates its form in 3D structures. Lastly, Ikehata adds parts of his original photo onto the sculpture via digital editing, creating realistic figures that convey a world in which people are battered and lost to technology.
