Valérie Minell is a comic artist living and working in Germany. Better-known as mrs.frollein on Instagram, the 26-year-old, Luxembourg-born artist has a mission to make people happy.
“Two main characters of my comics are based on my boyfriend and me but I want them to also be relatable to other people around the world,” the artist shared on Bored Panda. “Sometimes they text me that a comic brightened up their day and that comment brightens up mine.”
She adds that her drawings are very simple; she mainly uses black, white and grey, and sometimes adds a pinch of color, all because “she wants her work to be recognizable”.
“The reason behind that is that I post a comic every Sunday so I can’t invest too much time in coloring them. Also, I want them to be easily recognizable, especially on a very fast medium like Instagram, where people swipe through so many things in such a short period,” she added.
