Berlin and Seoul-based artist Sein Koo knows how to highlight the beauty of food through her colorful illustrations.
Whenever she travels to other countries or cities, the first thing she visits is the supermarket. She loves to collect food-based souvenirs from all her travels and she draws each product meticulously.
“Through each product’s different material, color, font, and shape used to design the packaging, I imagine the unique feeling of the country and the memories I treasure most from the place,” Koo told It’s Nice That. “Some people may think that it’s meaningless to imitate the packaging of products but I am happiest when I am drawing these things and it really distresses me!”
She uses markers for most of her drawings and she overlaps several colors to create deeper textures when necessary and leaves stark white areas in others. Her colorful artworks are available for sale on her website. You can also check out her Instagram page for updates.
