Bernie Kaminski Uses Papier-mâché Technique to Create Detailed Replicas of Everyday Objects

One look at the collection of works by New York City-based artist Bernie Kaminski, and you would think you are seeing just a random collection of everyday objects. However, these objects are actually well-crafted replicas made with Papier-mâché technique.

Kaminski is known for making Papier-mâché artworks that take inspiration from the objects around us. These might be things we use every day, like toothbrushes and toothpaste, or things we encounter frequently, like clothes, food, and drinks.

Regardless of the subject Kaminski chooses, he manages to make it incredibly detailed and realistic. Unless they pick it up, the viewer has a hard time recognizing the difference.

“Most of the things are somehow related to a subject I’m interested in, but sometimes I’m just curious to see how something will turn out. And I work within my limited abilities. I’m not so great at drawing or painting, and that rules out a lot,” Kaminski shared in a recent chat with The Family Reviews.

Kaminski’s Papier-mâché art received acclaim from the art world and was exhibited in galleries across the United States. To see more of it, visit the artist’s social media profiles or continue scrolling below.
