College Student Wrote A One-Sentence Essay And Received An “A” for It

When you’re a college student, the pressure is real. And maintaining good grades can be stressful. So we were more than stoked by this Twitter user’s story.

Allison Garret was assigned to rewrite a movie review, which required at least 500 words. However, she only wrote one sentence. She has chosen the well-known film “Fight Club” and in her essay, she wrote:

“Fight Club

‘The first rule of fight club is: you do not talk about fight club.’

That’s it. That’s the essay”

Thankfully, her teacher had a good sense of humor and gave Allison 100/100 points on her work. The teacher wrote to the student:

“I struggled over this grade for a long time. I finally decided you get a grade for a laugh and how relevant your review is for this particular movie. Let me warn you: do NOT try this kind of thing with other professors; they may not have my sense of humor.”
