Crafter Makes Hand-Made Drums From Bones and Animal Skin

Sabine Weyhe is a crafter who has been making hand-made drums for over two decades. Her instruments are made out of wood, bones and animal skin.

“Timber from sustainable forestry supplies the material for the frames. Trees are Earth’s oldest great creatures – their rounded, living wood makes them sound like the furs…”, Sabine shared on Bored Panda. “I built my first drum 22 years ago – full of joy and curiosity for this wonderful instrument. In the following time, the very own construction system of my heartbeat drums was created in many working hours.”

Sabine shares pictures of her work on her Facebook account called Herzschlag Trommeln und Wildnis-Schamanismus which translates to Heartbeat Drumming and Wilderness-Shamanism.
