Toymaker Hasbro recently presented a special edition of the iconic board game Monopoly, which is inspired by NBA star LeBron James.
MONOPOLY: LeBron James Edition comes in a black case adorned with gold details, including a crown that is a nod to James’ nickname “King James.” The board features properties with names of places where James lived and nods to various moments from his illustrious career. Additionally, the game comes with a special currency called “Bron Bucks” and figurines in the shape of championship rings, sneakers, and jerseys.
MONOPOLY: LeBron James Edition will be officially released on November 19, known as Monopoly Day. As part of the promotion, Hasbro teamed up with apparel giant Nike to bring a life-size version of the game to James’ hometown of Akron, Ohio. The event will be staged at the James-funded community center, House Three Thirty.
Hasbro and Nike also collaborated on two versions of the LeBron 22 basketball sneakers. The first version is known as “Currency” and features motifs of “Bron Bucks.” The second version is known as “Token” and comes in a “deep royal blue” colorway with golden etchings and graphics that represent the luxury properties featured in the Monopoly Game.
