Embroidery artists look for inspiration at every turn, and Lady Scrib found her biggest muse in popular culture. This talented artist from Salt Lake City is stitching together the most amazing hoops inspired by our favorite movies and TV shows.
Lady Scrib is the alter ego of Kassie Scribner, who fell in love with embroidery thanks to her grandmother in her youth. She went on to become a graphic designer and didn’t pick up embroidery for years, but remembered it again while looking for ways to get her spark back while experiencing a creative block.
She started writing down a list of things she loved and wanted to get better at, and embroidery was one of the first things that popped into her mind.
“When I started thinking it through, I realized it was a clear choice of what I should do for my project. I needed to pick up embroidery again to not only find my creative spark but do something that would bring me closer to my grandmother once again,” she wrote on her official website.
Most of Lady Scrib’s hoops are themed around popular culture, and they’re a love letter to the cult films and TV shows we all know and love. Bridgerton is her latest obsession, but we’ve also seen her pay homage to Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings, Disney classics, and more.
