Antonio Segura, also known as Dulk, is a Spanish artist who creates astonishing surreal works inspired by nature.
In Segura’s works, the viewers will witness unbelievable scenes featuring both real-life and fictive animals. From elephants walking on the ocean floor to unicorn turtles, it feels like anything is possible.
Besides the surreal element, Segura’s works are also known for their colorful nature. The artist uses vibrant colors that are usually not associated with his subjects, making them even more captivating.
Segura’s fascination with nature and the animal kingdom comes from his childhood. He enjoyed spending time going through his father’s old encyclopedia, and the pictures and illustrations of all the different animals in the world were etched into his mind. This fascination is going strong decades later.
“Combining my personal interests, art, and nature, is the foundation of my work now, as it was in my childhood. There is nothing that makes me prouder. When what you do and make is true, you show yourself as you are and with work and perseverance that will rarely turn out badly,” Segura shares in his artist’s statement.
Segura usually creates his artworks on canvas but is no stranger to murals and sculptures. Check out more of his works below.
